Nice to meet you all and thank you for the warm welcome. After my second deployment Fall/2001 Spring/2002 I returned to Bremerton Naval Hospital/WA state. I had circulation issues in my legs and body. The Navy completed surgery I thought all was good tell after returning from my 3rd deployment in 2003 the circulation issues returned and so the VA in Oregon completed another surgery. I have nerve damage in my left left leaving the drop foot. They dont know what caused the issues, I suspect it was from the Antrax and Small Pox vaccines. The VA has been great for treatments, I am very fortunate. I couldn't imagine what other service members have had to go thru. Thanks to all active duty and veterans

Hey, small world! I grew up within spitting distance of Bremerton and have very fond memories of bumming around the docks waiting for the ferry. My dad and I went to Anthony's at the terminal for my birthday, but I liked the Point Defiance one better. One of my best friends had a dad who was a Navy vet who went on to be a nuclear pipefitter in the shipyards. Did you ever go to that weird bug museum across the street from the security gates on the west side? I always meant to, but never did get around to it.

Yes, they did a great job with the museum during the ferry terminal upgrade. There is a ton of Naval history out of Bremerton and Sub Base Bangor
