Another great and fun topic.
My weird, different thing is that when I am reading or thinking, I spell out certain words with my toes as if I were typing them. I can't remember when I started doing it, but now it's become an automatic thing that I am aware of but can't not do...trying to stop myself just doesn't feel right.

Here's one, and I hate to tell on myself: I'm an attorney, and I have my most perverse thoughts while sitting in court waiting for the judge to take the bench. yeah, that one made me chuckle

One weird thing about me is that I genuinely enjoy memorizing things. It started when I was a kid: lines from tv/movies/plays (I did a lot of theater back then), factoids, lists, poems, lyrics...you name it. When I really want to relax, I pull up Sporcle or just start writing out on paper the names of all 197 countries and their capitol cities. Or I'll rattle off all the US presidents in order to the tune of Yankee Doodle. I guess it's why people find comfort in saying the rosary, etc. -- it just makes the whole rest of the world go away and nothing else matters but what's on the list. If I'm tense I'll pick something random to memorize like the lyrics to a complicated song or a finite list like every variety of penguin.

Not forever, unless I go back and refresh my memory. The presidents are pretty much set in stone now though, I have them down like my ABCs.

I know nearly every telephone area code in North America. A way to impress our friends!

The presidents are pretty much set in stone now though, I have them down like my ABCs.Β I can still do the states in alphabetical order. But as a kid I also took pride in remembering things word for word. Song lyrics are as close as I can get to maintaining that status in present day.

A few things most dont know about me:
1. I broke over 100 bones before I hit puberty. 2. I collect military surplus firearms. 3. I mow my own yard on a riding mover. 4. In my college years, I considered becoming a Funeral Director/Mortician.

Okay I got one but I'm always hesitant to mention it because the culture around the topic has become so fierce and polarizing, but fuck it here goes. I don't like dogs. For me it's a small deal, and simply a preference, but for some it's like some life and death situation. It's so weird how pervasive dog culture has become, that it seems odd to not have one or swoon over them at any given chance, but the thing is, I just don't like them. And I guess this preference makes me stand out but whatever.
The thing is, I don't want your dog licking me, or jumping up on me. I don't want to hear it bark, especially nonstop at something mundane. I don't want to watch you awkwardly baby-talk to it like it's some intelligent being that understands you. And I don't want to come over to your place and watch you try and wrangle this insubordinate neurotic beast. It's not fun or cute to me. It's kind of gross and annoying.
When all is said and done though, I feel like if my unpopular opinion makes it so 1 person loves me, and 10 people hate me, then it's totally worth it.

Being from India is definitely rare on this forum And yet roughly 17% of humans are from India π itβs all about perspective That makes me even rarest rare on this forum, very few of us representing 17β
of the world population on this forum. This reminds of of something, till 1996 I was just an Indian but when I moved to the US I was considered exotic. I remember my boss asking me how did I get my tan and what I was using for it. π you are right about perception
