maybe not super different, but I'm addicted to kpop. Have been since like 2008? I have sometimes gone a few months without listening to it, but I always come back to kpop. >.<

most definitely. It's the only thing close to vacation. I mean, normal people can take vacations and just escape their normal daily lives with work and everything. Paralysis and whatnot, you can't take a vacation from but dreaming helps out with that little bit
I can understand you perfectly.
Being disabled means your vacation goes into a whole new different level.
I prefer to take long vacations rather than those stupid overnight ones, too many things to pack and unpack. I have to charge my hearing aids before, carry all the related stuff like the charger, dehumidifier, the spares etc... And also at the airport security, I get harassed into removing my hearing aids repeatedly and then again try to communicate without them. I mean, I need my aids to converse!! How can you not understand that. Then they will stare and question at my HAs charger and dehumidifier etc... It gets very demeaning and embarrassing, ruining the holiday mood.
BTW, I also hate those vacations where people cram their schedule to the fullest. I mean the idea of a vacation is to enjoy, relax your leisure time, not have a stressful hectic routine ticking off the list.
definitely I haven't done much traveling since my injury. It's just looks like nothing but horror stories traveling very disabled and whatnot. Although, there are places I would love to visit. Maybe one day.

Hopefully traveling for the disabled improves everywhere and quickly too. It becomes a very tedious thing. Even I too love traveling. But I tend to think twice now esp international travel, after the pandemic, it seems to have become a lot worse.
LOL, I prefer to watch the travel videos on Youtube from the comfort at home. Of course, you'll miss out on the smells and touch and feel of the place. But what to do when you don't have much of a choice.

I agree with crazy traveling and you can take tours of places with virtual reality goggles but from what I can tell, still pretty expensive and limited if you can't use arms otherwise I would try

It isn't much but I love to take pics of everything and film everyone. Not in like a creepy way, but I guess since I am a film student, I enjoy recording all my parties, taking pictures in my park trips, gym.
Its gotten to a point with my group of friends that it's like a joke, if someone wants to remember a funny memory or time, they just check my gallery 😅

I tried these virtual reality googles, Oh My God! Never again I'm putting those on, I went and banged myself into a wall. Completely turned off by the idea of those googles, sometimes they are very disorienting. LOL! Gave me massive headaches too. And also too heavy to sit comfortably on the head and face.
It's sitting neatly packed up, never to be touched again.

when I first saw tours for those, I wanted to try and still kind of do. But I tried one from someone once, I think it was skydiving, but because I couldn't look around and physically move my head to do so it didn't work at all so I haven't tried since. I don't know if there's voice control stuff available now but maybe one day. No offense, it is funny to watch people using those and walking into walls and whatnot LOL I could definitely see why you would gain hatred for them :-)

LOL, I too find those guys bumbling around wearing a VR googles extremely funny. And some of them either do it purposely or accidentally, IDK. But yes, they are very entertaining to watch. You should see how those people of our grandparents generation react to seeing in those goggles.
Let's hope they can improve it drastically for the disabled too. It would be a nice change for us to be able to experience some nice things once in a while.

LOL I have seen older generations using them and it can be hilarious. You know, this might be just my opinion, but with you saying you hope they can improve VR for the disabled.... I think, companies would benefit and so would customers... Especially disabled customers, if they had devotees working for them in decision-making positions.

There's many times in life where you wish you would have taken pictures or something. These days, with phones and everything, it's normal to documenting everything.

I agree with you, if we could have more people thinking and including the disabled folks in inventing new stuff, but rarely do they incorporate them. As for the devs working publicly for the disabled, I doubt, cause many hide their attraction and hence the topic of disability is ignored largely. IDK, maybe the companies should instead hire more and more disabled folks, then only we can progress overall in the society.
Like in the hearing aid industry, many employees are hearing,- not deaf, hard of hearing, CODA, or even having those kind of relatives. So how do we expect them to understand the issues we face daily without experiencing it firsthand itself. I have personally seen with my own eyes, they are largely ignorant about certain issues we come across in daily life. And another thing is that they expect us to conform to their ideals of a perfect hearing, which is impossible inspite of the tremendous leap in the technology. Ultimately, they have to accept that we lack hearing and hence cannot be perfect all the time while speaking or talking in certain situations.

I completely understand that especially seeing with my mother losing her hearing from disabilities. All the technology in the world and used for what? To take better pictures with your phone, stupid stupid. Or, when I started using Dragon natural speaking software to control my computer, it was awesome. I mean it was really looking like they cared and eventually I'd be able to do anything. Then, as new software came out, it went from helping people who need to help to helping people with money who were too lazy to type out a sentence and would rather speak it. Now, it's gone nowhere and it's pitiful and sad.
