Hello I'm new and trying to figure out how to use the site! Stay out of Dev's only, understood loud and clear. Issue I'm having is that when I go to people's profiles to check out the posts they've recently participated in to see if I would be interested in being friends with them I don't think that those posts discriminate on what was posted in devs only vs. the rest of the general board. In an effort to respect dev's privacy do you have any ideas on how to navigate that? Should I just stay away from that feature? As soon as I realize I'm in the wrong place (which is usually right after I click) I leave and do my best to delete everything I saw from my brain. I want to get to know people bc I've been isolated for a long time but I would never want to cross anybody's boundaries, safe space, or privacy. And as a sidebar, as a new member who got here by learning about something off hand and had no idea this world existed, I think it would be invaluable for me to be able to ask questions to PWDs in private where the devs aren't looking. I could use guidance, I have questions, I want to process things that have happened to me that I'm confused about. Do you think that's something else that anybody would be interested in? I was thinking it's probably a good idea to have thread on how new members can navigate things easier here in the beginning.
1: If you're a PWD (person with disability) the Devs Only section is exactly that, don't post there, don't react to any comments there, and don't bring up any topics from there into other sub-boards; it's for devs only, and you get strikes on your name if you violate it. 2: There are two ways to reply to a thread; the quick reply which automatically populates on the bottom of the screen or the "Reply" button that it's the text field on the far right. If you click that, you get a more advanced way to post including adding images. The little menu above shows a little button that looks like a landscape, that's the "insert image" link. Click that and a text box will open. Paste the image URL (right click on the image you want and copy image location) and it automatically does the HTML stuff for you. You can also change your font color, size, italics, bold, add links, YouTube videos, etc.
3: Speaking of images, this site has a data limit, so don't attach pictures, even though it's an option. Host them on a sharable place like IMGUR or something like that and use the insert image link as mentioned above. Facebook or places with logins won't work usually. Make sure they're safe for work images, no nudity, hate, offensive stuff.
4: Be civil and polite; you can disagree without getting into insults and personal attacks. Also keep talks of an adult nature to a reasonable minimum, these boards are monitored by the company that owns the service and we don't want to get in trouble with them.
5: If you're new here, you cannot send a personal message to anyone until you hit 10 posts or replies. People who are able to send messages can send it to you though. 6: If you find an old thread about the chat room, it no longer exists. 7: Try not to spam the board with the same posts; if you want an old post to get attention, try bumping it up by replying to it. 8: No one owes you anything here. You may be a PWD who thinks a devotee will swoon at your very existence, but it might not happen. Same goes for a dev and PWD. We're all regular people with preferences, desires and interests that are unique and not everyone will be a match just because you're a PWD or dev. 9: If you have a problem with someone, don't air your dirty laundry in the public. If someone is harassing you, message the moderators like devogirl or dolly 10: English only, please. Though the site is international, the mods speak English and it's impossible to moderate in all different languages to make sure the rules are being followed.

I always understood that reading the Dev's only area was fine, just don't bring it up anywhere else and certainly don't interact with it. As far as chatting with PWDs in private, feel free to DM me. Obviously, I'm new as well, but always happy to chat, offer words of encouragement, etc.

So to answer your question, if you find a topic that the person started or replied to using their username, say you clicked on my profile and found this very thread. If you go to the thread, look up at the top (if on desktop, I dunno about mobile) look at the image here and see the green arrow? It shows which board the thread is located in. In this thread it's in General, but if you see Dev's only, you read it, it can't be avoided, but just for Pete's sake don't post, reply, or like in that thread. Attachments:

Hmm... mine doesn't show that arrow. In some of the thread titles it says devs only but that's the only differentiation I've been able to notice. But the DD's make that hard sometimes.

Ooooh ok. I see how to go from your profile to the correct board by using the bar at the top.
What I’m talking about is it I go to look at someone’s recent posts and then it gives a list of how they responded to different threads and which threads they weighed in on.

If you click on any particular thread that a person interacted in, you can figure out which board it's in by using what I showed.

It’s truly NOT that private for us but it’s all we have on PD
