I’m just wondering if anybody else has had this done? Over the last few months, a lot of my friends have died, and I think it’s time I got my affairs in order. Which is basically my will, power of attorney, funeral, burial etc. to be honest, I thought I would be married by now, with children, but not to be.

But I’m proud of you for getting that done. I’m just 28.

I have about 80% of mine done, getting it finalized soon. It can happen at any time so I don't want it to be a mess for my family.

I just got an attorney referral from my family finance advisor, this is Q2 for me this year. It ain’t too bad for me, no wife, or kids. My heirs will be clearly defined, and I will be scattered. No fuss no muss. Cheers!

US folks remember, Medicaid will come after your assets when you pass. Secure anything you plan to receive from a 3rd party (inheritance) in a 3rd party special needs trust. 3rd party SNTs can be inherited by your family. Mine goes to a potential spouse, potential kids, or my niece and nephews.

I honestly should've done this by now approaching 40. My mom has mentioned it a few times, but it's also a thought she doesn't like to verbalize. Thing is, I don't really have any assets or things I would be leaving behind other than my wheelchair, my PlayStation 5, and my dogs. I do wish to be cremated (the ideal place to dump them would be over the left field wall of Wrigley Field into the ivy, but since that's not possible I dont really have a preference) because I have always hated funerals and in my later years I simply don't go to them. It haunts me to think of my last memory of someone I loved laying in a casket looking nothing like how I knew them. I also don't want someone going to "visit" me by a tombstone regularly when all that's there is bones and skin turning into dust.
I guess that's all I have considered when it comes to my affairs. What am I missing?

I have an old will, leaving everything to my sister. I was having a conversation a few weeks ago with a mate, and we worked out there may be approximately $300,000 of race car parts in my shed, so if anything happens to me he will liquidate them, and give my family the money. We were both horrified at the thought of my family going in a nd throwing away all the "junk"

I am thinking about having a celebrity funeral, coffin in the back of the DeLorean. Hopefully it reaches 88 mile an hour and I go back to the future. 😂 After completing all the paperwork, I was asked if I am unable to continue without being on life-support, would I like it switched off, and I said yes. I don’t want to live with tubes, sticking out of me. This September is my 33rd year since my accident. That’s without sex! I’ve never really opened up about things like this, but I am at the point now when it’s what the hell! I am so lucky to have found a great dev friend on here, to me it’s much better than a relationship. I think, if you want to achieve something in life, you should bloody well do it! I am at that point now, looking forward.
Cheerio for now,
Pete 👍

I signed up with a company called Neptune Society. They will cremate you anywhere you are traveling in the world and send your ashes back home. They sent me this big ass box in the mail, that I did not want for my ashes. Freaked my kids out. Where do you put something like that. I definitely don’t want my kids hanging onto my ashes, especially in a big wood box. But what do you do with it? I’ve asked my kids to throw into ocean or plant a tree on top of me. They joke that I get a Viking funeral and will build me a raft. Set me off to sea and shoot flaming arrows at it. 😆
