Do any of you find that memories of contact with random wheelers stick out in your mind with super clarity?
In general, I have a horrible memory, especially as concerns everyday activities. But there have been times in my life that I've crossed paths with a wheeler, and it's just stuck in my mind. I can remember everything about the moment. Where I was, the angle of the view, exactly what they were wearing, what their chair was like, and what their body looked like -- atrophy, deformity, spasticity, in detail. Almost like a photographic memory, an image burned into my brain. I then have access to these memories during sexual fantasies, in Technicolor.
Does anyone else experience this?

Claire, what you are describing sound like what some people refer to as "sightings". I actually don't have that kind of photographic memory. I can't even tell you what my ex-wheeler bf was wearing the day we met (yeah, shame on me).

i can relate to indelible images, claire. it has only happened in certain, fairly rare, circumstances for me... but i do have a small mental "archive". lol one of the earlier and more vivid ones for me wasn't actually wheeler but a boy (early teens) who was visiting our church when i was probably about 10 years old. he had some sort of contraption (part cast, part brace) that ran from his upper legs to above his ankles with a bar in between to keep his legs straight and separate his legs into a wide "A" shape. i was fascinated and surreptitiously positioned myself to watch him walk and go up and down the stairs. he was also quite cute. i can still see him in my mind clear as day.
