I dunno, the dancing in this video seemed kinda dorky to me. Regular wheelers out on a nightclub seems fine though.

tony the bony i cant believe you try to keep a low profile...you r a performer!...call me captain weirdo but i put myself out there front & center...i havent sang w/ a band since my illness cuz the death of karaoke took away my chances to get my voice back into condition altho i still get requests quite often...but dancin,,,SHE (the one that ripped my guts out last year) was out last nite & we did the slo dancing in my lap & the energetic swing me around thing,,,for the first time she didnt manage to pull her foot out of theway of my left caster & she got dumped on her butt...ooops...im shameless in my desire for attention i guess...and i waltz much better in my chair than i ever did when i was walking...

I don't dance very often, but I've gone out quite a bit. Always had a blast. Don't need to be drunk either. Once, with my late wife (she was a para from a car accident), we were on the dance floor and she managed to land on her ass outside the wheelchair. we all cracked up laughing and she kept on dancing, sitting on the floor while onlookers were quite shocked and worried. Different place, a friend of a friend, not knowing I was married to the woman in a wheelchair next to us, climbed in my lap and started kissing me, and pulled me to the dance floor. My wife looked on, amused. She was safe in the knowledge I was going home to HER bed that night Anyway, the blonde ended up slow dancing with me on the dance floor. My wife pointed out that the logistics of a slow dance for two wheelchair users were a bit too complex anyway. Yeah, you make a fool of yourself, but I used to make a fool of myself on the dance floor anyway, before the chair. Even when I actually danced the tango, always felt I looked a right plonk. <shrug> Life's short

natasha, yes, the logistics of two wheelchair users together can be quite complicated. We had people get cynical with us and say things like "so, what do you do together? Rub wheels?" We repeatedly managed to put three wheelchairs, and three wheelchair users in our little Ford hatchback. Always caused a bit of a commotion when we arrived at the local rehab center However, natasha, as you probably don't know me yet, I must be honest with you, I unfortunately am not a para. I merely have been living as a wheelchair user for a long, long time. over 12years now, actually. Because I have BIID.

Even though I'm pretty adamant about not 'dancing', I've always wanted to do (if things were more ideal) some of the more 'classic' dances - I'd love to do a Tango, or a Waltz or something of that sort.
