Not too bad considering he is a new low injury. He obviously has his lower abs. Can tell he is going to have skin problems,if he doesn't alsready, on his buttocks just by how skinny he is. Its a common problem with low breaks. Let's see if he can do the same type of transfer twenty years from now after the shoulders wear out. May he continue to thrive, stay strong and be a continued viable asset to society. GB him.

i'd never be able to transfer that high. or that far. he's got good abdominal and arm strength. but he'd better watch that shearing force. he's doing a good bit of hard sliding on his butt. and wearing jeans too. he'd better be careful of abrasions...

Well transfering comes easy to me... actually almost any activity is easy out of my chair.. but only because I was born a para. So being this way is all I know, eventhough I'm getting kinda old, and have put on way too much weight, I still can get around good. I've actually talked to some people before who were in accidents to show them that being in a wheelchair isn't really that horrible. Hard for me to imagine though the work it would take to get used to it, being AB before.

it is interesting how two wheelrs can LOOK very similar to an observer; who just sees guys in wheelchairs...but they may have very different levels of functionality.

I look like a para to almost all ABs, so it shocks them that i'm not able para-like things. I have no probs transferring to floor by taking a dive; it's getting off the floor that requires a few manly men. I've said it before, 'being a c5c6 is world away from being a para, but it all comes down to how you handle it mentally.' Most ABs think I'm just a weak-dude, not realizing I'm pushing without 80% muscle function.
