Welcome to the board! I'm so glad there's another member here who appreciates a sexy blind guy! Maybe we can finally tip the balance toward a bind guy hero selection for the book club, haha  I totally agree with your recommendations--Miss Ware's Refusal and This Is All I Ask are the BEST romances, hands down. Although I have to say, I read Flowers from the Storm a few years ago and it didn't move me in a dev way. It was pretty well written, but somehow it didn't push the right buttons, not sure why not. Oh and The Morning Side of Dawn was a big hit around here in the book club a few months back, I think it was selection #2 if you look back in the posts. Hello Devogirl, Well you have another one here, i am very very into the blind heroes, actually i think my devness is more with special things, i love blindness in guys since i was little, but i didn´t know about devotees until now, so i thought i was alone. I really like also deafness and some kind of injuries. Wheelers sometimes, but not my favorite, it depends a lot of the guy itself. I haven´t read too much about blindness in books, but i read Blind Side, and i enjoyed it soo much, i couldn´t stop reading, i found some other stories but not as good as that one. There´s another novel about blindness, is from a Spaniard writer called Benito Perez Galdos, it´s called Marianela. Is the story of a very ugly girl who lives her live to help his master, a blind and beautiful young and rich men, when he get surgery and recover his sight well, its not a happy ending, but i enjoyed the blind dev factor. In Spain made a movie about it, here´s the link You guys mentioned Miss Ware's Refusal and This Is All I Ask, is there any site where i could download them?? let me know!! |

Marianela!!... what a wonderfull book!! So sad!... I read that when I was about 12, it is a beatifull, sad story!
And Thank Kvit... I didn´t know they had made a movie of the book.

Unfortunately the older romance novels are not available online, unless someone buys an old copy and scans every page by hand. I believe that's what the woman who runs the devotee journal site does.
Oh and BTW I emailed her and asked if she will be updating it soon, but as she lives in Bahrain, she has bigger things to worry about right now, so no.

Kvit... I just watched "Fuga de Cerebros"... it was ok... but not so funny like "Va a ser que somos..." Walkyria, yeah, i saw the movie thinking of the blind character, not so much the wheeler, but i think is more like an american movie made in Spain, so it has a lot of crazy things around the plot. The blind character it´s ok, but they make fun of the disability itself, and the wheeler, i think the only dev moment was when he was in the restaurant and he felt in the ground when the girl leaves. I posted the movie because it has this two characters. The other, nobody is perfect, is just great, one of my fav movies so far, i am in love with the deaf cute guy, i even download another movie from the same actor, Santi Millan, but of course is not the actor but the character that is so special. |

Kvitka - Yes we meet on Skype for the book clubs. If you send me or devogirl your skype name we will add you to our contact list and call you when the chat starts. The way skype works is both people have to accept the contact request in order to call one another so many sure you accept the request. Its a group voice call so you will need a mic but there is no video to worry about.
