Lee, I have been noticing that many new members have come on board and seem to be posting fairly regularly. Also, in the evenings it seems like quite a few of us are online at the same time. Do you think this site will ever have a chatroom? Is it something that others would enjoy? It would be alot of fun to talk in "real time" to eachother.
What do you all think?

Yeah, I think a chatroom might be too much temptation. I'm trying to have a real life too. But if enough people get excited about it here, I'll look into it.

If the T-shirt project comes to fruition, and if there are just a few excess profits. Then those profits just might cover the additional costs and hastles of appending a chatspace here.

Sounds good.
What would it cost, anyway?

Money isn't the issue. I unfortunately don't have the time right now to look into something like that. If someone else wants to start one, however, I'd be happy to link to it. I don't know how these chat areas work...

I have nothing against chat rooms, but I think that given Lee's time constraints, Paradevo.net can survive without one. I think it is safe to assume that those of us who would be chatting with each other have made those connections and already are chatting via our Messenger services. And as has been mentioned here: and this is purely selfish, I would truly never get anything done if I had one more place to play.

If anyone really wants to get into chatting habit (which I don't particularly want, been there, done that, wasted way too long of my life). There's always IRC. it's free, it's easy. Only thing to determine is a channel name, and a server. Whenever you want to chat, load IRC, connect to determined server, and join the channel. If you're the first one in, you've created the channel, if there's someone else there already, you can chat. Remember it's real time, so if you say anything when no one else is around, it's not gonna be seen It can get more complicated than that, but don't have to worry about permanent settings and so on and so forth until/unless the chat sessions do take off.
