Yep, good old devil dog, but they're both good natured dogs. My third dog on the other hand, is a devil dog, but I must type carefully for he's sitting on my lap as we speak!

I know where Woodstock is, that's well northwest of Chicago, drove through there once, and that was enough. I'm assuming you know someone there because unlike its more famous counterpart in New York...there's not much going on in the Illinois version!

Well funny enough there's a Genoa Illinois but that's due west of Chicago, but there is a Lake Geneva in Wisconsin, which I what I think you might be referring to. I've been to both but it's been years since I've been to Lake Geneva and sadly not to fish. I did go up fishing waaaay up north in Wisconsin back in September, that was fun. That was mostly an excuse to drink beer for a solid week.

hi paul. nice pics. my favourite is the second one, too. fubb, i think it's so funny you were in genoa city! that is the setting of one of the longest running and most popular soap operas in north america, the young and the restless. i used to watch it many years ago. the genoa city on the show is fictional, but also located in wisconsin. the fictional city is a bit more of a metropolis and seems to have a bit more going on! www.cbs.com/daytime/the_young_and_the_restless/about/?sec=4from wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genoa_City_(fictional_city)

...I don't think there is much going on in the New York Woodstock these days either. Well, I was just there a few weeks ago and it was pretty busy. Actually, Woodstock is a town about 30 miles due east of the original concert site, which is a town called Bethel, New York. Woodstock itself is full of 'hippie' type stores and the commercial aspect of 'Woodstock - the Aftermath'. Bethel has a huge center for the performing arts and you can hang out on the same hill where the original concert took place. The foundation for the stage is still there. Some of the people who came for the concert in 1969 never left the place and so it is still infused with that spirit. I was privileged enough to get a tour of Max Yasgur's farm and original house by the guy that currently resides there. I thought I was trespassing (I was) but he was so cool about it that he invited me in. I got to see some awesome artifacts, much better than I could have seen by paying an admission price to one of the 60's themed museums up there.

BA, I know its already been mentioned on here before, but Woodstock sounds just like Nimbin in northern NSW - although as far as I am aware, it has never been host to a famous music festival. Nimbin totally has that 60's hippy feel about it and pot is freely available.
Dolly, we also had the Young and the Restless running here for a long time as a daytime soap. I think it has only recently stopped being shown on free-to-air. I always get that show confused with Days of Our Lives where they tend to name characters after geographical features a la Ridge and Brook. I'm just waiting for them to introduce characters called Cliff and River - not that I have ever watched soaps.....

Guys, I think you're confusing Australia with some other countries. We don't fricasee our dogs here, but we do grow them tough....especially in the Northern Territory ;D. Who could forget one Lindy Chaimberlan "A dingo's got my baby" ! Cats, schmats.... where's the loyalty?

That reminds me of a campaign PETA had where they wanted to officially rename fish as "sea kittens" because of the psychology that people wouldn't eat something so cutely named. I eat hotdogs and hushpuppies, and if I could get through eating something called lady fingers, sea kittens won't faze me at all
