;D I hear Heather got a torch for Christmas... but personally, I'm fire-less. (And I think torch may mean something else where she is )... no pitchfork either. The best I could manage as a raging villager right now is... well, I could toss a beginning to rot orange at you or tp your yard. Neither seems worth it, really.... so, how 'bout welcome back, I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

I definitely leave my 'mark' on people... ...but yeah, I used to live in the 'Middle of New England as well' (Western Mass).

I grew up outside of Boston and have lived all over MA & NH, too. I'm on the coast now. I like the ocean too much to move too far away from it. If Arizona or Nevada had an ocean, I'd be there tomorrow.

Yeah, the ocean is great. I spend as much time there as possible. The weather (duh, lol) and life in general get in the way sometime, but I manage to get there when I can and just watch the surf.

I have to agree with Phil. There's nothing like the ocean, even here in the dead of winter it draws me and I have to go look at it. And these days I can't wait, it seems like it's going to be cold enough for the sea to freeze around here and that's a sight to behold - the frozen waves making the coolest shapes towards the beach.

I love the ocean too! I wish I lived somewhere I got to see it more often! One of my favourite places in the world is this little island called 'Røst' pretty far up north in Norway, where my dad grew up. This little island is surrounded with nothing but ocean and beautiful mountains, that I've been told is amongst the oldest mountains in the world. It's the greatest and most liberating feeling ever to be standing on top of one of those mountains (which has also the largest populations of birds in all of Norway), with huge eagles flying above your head and nothing but ocean as far as your eyes can see! This photo I took a few years back. The mountain I climbed looks rather similar to the largest mountain you see in the photo. And as you can see by looking at the ocean, it was pretty windy there! All people should see this place though, it's absolutely beautiful there!

Wow, that's a really beautiful scene, Phoenix. Although I do go to the beaches in summer, I rather go when the tourists aren't around in the spring and fall seasons. It's so crowded in summer. I just like to sit, watch the waves and think. Alf, it's cold here but I can't imagine the sea freezing solid. I don't think I'll complain about the cold temps quite as much now.

Wow that is quite a splendid scene in that picture! You seem to be a natural with capturing beauty by camera, phoenix!
As for the freezing cold! Bah - I've been roughly in that area of Europe before, I still haven't seen anything that has impressed me like the skin-tearing wind chills on Mount Washington. It's been actually rather freakin' cold for the South recently, though...

Hehe thanks! But it isn't hard capturing beauty on camera when you're in such a beautiful place like that! Wow, I know I don't want to go to Mt Washington then!! We're actually having rather cold weather even for Norway these days... about all of Norway is covered with snow at the moment, and more is coming toward the end of this week!! And it's all over the news that next week it'll get down between -20 and -40 C (-4 and -40 F ) where I live!!!!! Which is like... insanely cold! I can't remember it ever being that cold here Did I mention I hate the snow and the cold? I want to move to a warmer country!!
