Haha, you're not the only one! I had the same reaction watching Chris Pine in the new Star Trek movie last year, because he played a blind guy in that one movie a few years ago, Blind Dating. Not a great film, but damn he was so cute!
Oh and speaking of Avatar, it's out on DVD now, if you want to watch certain scenes over and over. And I heard it will be re-released in theaters this summer with deleted scenes added.
I can't remember if this was mentioned already, but I heard in an interview with James Cameron those skinny legs weren't CGI--they made them from molds cast from the legs of a real para. Now that's dedication to realism.

sam worthington may be hot n' all, but he'll never really do it for me the same way he did in avatar and that's just a fact.
it's like michael weatherly. good looking dude. but after season one of dark angel he was just another attractive AB guy. nice to look at. but the magic was gone.
at the end of the day, ya just can't beat a good looking guy in a chair. lol
sigh.

Devogirl, you're right - the legs were made from molds of a real para. Really great.
My favourite scene was when Sigourney Weaver's character dragged him backwards away from the computer. Aaaahhh...
I haven't seen Dark Angel yet. You all give it great reviews - I have to get on that!

Oh Dark Angel, gosh it's been so long (ten years!!). I remember watching the first episode so clearly. I'm a huge geek for any sci fi, so I tuned in just based on the futuristic premise; there was no hint about a wheeler character in the promos, of course. About halfway through, they showed Logan sitting in front of a computer, and I had a weird premonition that he was in a wheelchair--AND THEN HE WAS. It was downright creepy, like they had tapped directly into my brain for the kind of action/sci fi story I might have written. At least at first, it went in other directions later, alas.
Season one was awesome, despite Jessica Alba's truly terrible acting, the fact that nothing at all was researched, from the science, to the facts of SCI, to the street names in Seattle, and the way they kept revamping the characters. Michael Weatherly was H-O-T and that's all that mattered. The second season suuuuuuucked, though, just a warning, they don't exactly cure him but he doesn't spend much time in the chair. The devo quotient goes way down, unfortunately. And the plot gets really really dumb, totally jumps the shark, not just once, but multiple times. But definitely watch at least the first season. Enjoy, and let us know what you think.

I know there aren't as many disabled actors out there but does anyone else wish that producers would at least try to find genuine wheelies for these roles? I know that's a selfish wish but authenticity can't be bad! lol I've been watching Private Practice a lot lately. They have a new quad actor playing a doctor. They've even made him the object of desire of one of the main characters. It's good to see.

There are few guys out there unfortuunately
I LOVE my dev encounters and have all Dark Angel on dvd...hell I have a porn shelf.
The best show for devs is season 1 of Friday Night Lights. Get it and see. I swear you will get into it.

Have to agree on "Friday Night Lights" - was really disappointed when Jason Street left Dillon.

whoa. I LOVED Dark Angle!!! Back then being in love with Logan was my deepest darkest secret. Considering I was only 9 at the time!!! Then I never could figure out why. Wow it's crazy thinking back to watching it then and having thoughs feelings. I think it was the first dev candy I had until Daredevil came out.

TBH I only bought Dark Angel cos my AB pin up is Jensen Ackles. I have his whole back catalogue of terrible roles! I am the biggest Supernatural fan and this is really weird but when I move to Egypt almost 3 yrs ago I was in need of something to do after work and started writing fan fic. It was a whole new world and I didn't do well at all. That was until....I just decided my dev feelings needed to get out somehow and I wrote a Supernatural fic where Sam gets paralysed in the first chap. It was just one of those things I wrote and it's not all that good but OMG I got emails from ALL over the world asking for more so I carried on writing and it became this epic oddysey where Dean tries every spell etc to get him walking again and won't accept their old lives are over. Sam pretends everything's ok and carries on hunting. Eventually I got a fan base and ended up hooking Sam up with this physio who teaches him some moves in the sack. The response was unbelievable and they lapped it up which ultimately led me to this site.
Anyway through the year I wrote this fic one of the writers on the show became a friend of mine on FB and I sent her some ideas. I'm not being weird here but some of what I wrote ended up on the show, little things at first and then I was just so sure she was a closet dev!
In the end they paralysed Bobby which is a real shame cos he's not hot at all, in or out of a chair but what can you do?

Please post a link to your fanfic--I'm sure our members would like to read it.

Seriously, my talent is questionable! I think I literally hit on an idea and awaked the hidden Dev in these women, even when I hadn't admitted it to myself.
