In a recent interview with Kim Catrall for the movie SATC2, she was asked what advise she'd give to actresses who were just starting out in their field. Her answer, I thought, was so appropriate for us devs, esp. the ones who are still trying to understand themselves. She says, and I am paraphrasing here, to learn to just RELAX ... enjoy the moment, even the struggles...because in the end everything will be alright. We will be just fine So let's be mindful of what makes us unique - this common thread that binds us to this site, and let's celebrate that what makes us different!

Ya know i alway assume the same with financial stuff: Everything always works out and worrying doesn't help (although we all do it).
I think yes, Ciao, Dev's need to enjoy the moment, or in my case just get drunk

Amen to that celebration . BTW, I must admit that I´m looking forward to watching "Sex and the City 2: Carrie On" - in between all of the serious documentaries and film noir, that I watch, obviously ;D. Carrying on about SATC; I once saw a TV programme going behind the scenes, where said Kim Catrall commented, that the four women in the series had done and tried everything, when it came to sex. It immediately hit me, that NONE of them ever went out with or had sex with a disabled man. None of them. Never. Sure; Carrie went out with a few men, who had psychological issues, but never a guy with a physiological disability. Too bad!

I liked the TV show (the movie not so much), but it really pisses me off when the totally bland, vanilla, ordinary things they did get passed off as running the whole gamut of sexual experience. Wow, so Carrie had, what, four or five boyfriends? Samantha slept with a younger man? Yep, that covers everything And don't even get me started on that one SM episode, where even Samantha gets totally freaked out, like that's just too weird even for her. Please! I did enjoy the show for the most part, but the fact that my mother was also a huge fan tells you that it really wasn't that edgy. Although I'm a bit horrified that now my mom knows what teabagging is, ha ha.

I completely agree with you, Devogirl and Annabelle; the whole sex set-up in the SATC series was quite vanilla - everything always happened in clean, posh and high-flown surroundings and settings (which can be said about a lot of other films and series as well ... we never really get to see the more sinister, "dark" or "dirty" sides ... not in a quality or mainstream TV-show or film, that is ...). Anyhow; I watched it just to relax and to let the humour in it entertain me - (well, and to envy a few pairs of Manolo Blahnik stilettos ) - but I cannot help but think how hot it could have been if Carrie had had a relationship with a guy in a chair ...
