I'm Celeste. I've commented on a couple of posts around a year ago, but I really don't think anyone would remember me. And I know this is the devs only section, but I'm sure the wheelchair users read it anyway. So I'd just like to put it out there that I am not looking for a relationship on this site. Last time I was here a while ago some guy messaged me out of nowhere and I thought it was a litttlllle creepy. Anyway, there is a lot of talk here about books and movies and stories and such, but what about drawings of wheelchair users? I have done a few myself (My favorite so far: fc05.deviantart.net/fs50/f/2009/268/1/e/A_New_Character_by_Chaadoea.png ). I have been looking around deviantART but all I seem to find are pictures by devotees of disabled females. Does anyone know of other visual artists interested in drawing wheelchair users? And out of curiosity, do any of you like to look at illustrations of wheelchair users, or just photos? And lastly, I'd like to add that there is a very well researched (and very hot hehe) manga about wheelchair basketball. It's called Real by Takehiko Inoue. There are English translated scans online as well as official books (which are translated and published significantly slower than the internet versions). I love manga and I figured that someone else here might benefit from that bit of info. (:

Celeste,
That is a great drawing. I am not artistically inclined myself. I seem to be completely devoid of creative/artistic talent, with the exception being writing.
However, I am (somewhat) technologically inclined. I have experimented with creating devotee images using programs like Photoshop and GIMP. When I realized that there was a lack of hot wheeler images I took a proactive stance and began creating them myself. The endeavor is still a work in progress, as realism is hard to achieve. Though I am getting more proficient. If anyone is interested in seeing some of my "art work", I would be happy to share. Should I post it here, in a separate thread or in the photo section...
Also, years of devoteeism have yielded a large cache of wheeler/devotee images and videos from Internet searches. If anyone is interested in that I could share as well, though many here have probably found some of the same things.
Thanks for contributing Celeste! ;D

Thanks for the greetings and compliments! It means a lot.
Also, I'd love to see some of your artwork! I'm assuming they are photo manipulations, right? I'm interested in all kinds of art, so please post (it doesn't really matter to me where you post).

Welcome back, Celeste! Cool picture! Yes, please post lots more, we want to see! Links are ok, or attach it to a message. Or if you want to post things in a more permanent way, you can email Lee and have him put it up on the website. It's up to you. And that goes for all the artists here, we want to see your work! I like this artist's work: michellemariesuan.deviantart.com/gallery/#-Sightless-Love-All blind guys, sorry no wheelers. I think there are more female devs lurking around deviantart. If you've got work there, or if you have a favorite artist let us know the link. And yes, Paige, please let us see your work and links to other images too.

I don't mind my work being on the website, but to avoid confusion I don't want that picture on the site. I already have that on deviantART under a username that isn't celesty, and I don't really want to go through any "art theft" confusion because of that. But I will post more as I draw them. (:
And devogirl, the art you linked to is very nice, and I do like blind guys a bit, but usually I need to see something more kinetic (like Covert Affairs!). I guess I don't have enough of an imagination or something, haha.

I love the art but think it can be enhanced with a caption or story behind it. I yearn to know what he is feeling and thinking. Maybe I would like the manga. Then again I think the whole sporty upbeat part ruins it for me havnt been able to get into it. But seeing the art here has defiantly sparked so interest in a line a dev art. Its really beautiful. To us. Why is that a mear drawing or creation like that is beautiful to us? Would it be so to the average person? Even something worth taking a 2nd look at?

Welcome back, Celeste. I´m sorry that you felt a little creepy about a guy PM´ing you, but ... don´t worry, it´s just the internet and he doesn´t know your real identity. Don´t let it scare you away; we would definitely want to see your drawings . Personally, I REALLY like both photos and drawings of wheelers and combined with a great story - it´s just very yummy .
