Sorry but I think that sometimes on this board things are said that makes non paras/quads feel less welcome.
I know each dev has their own preferences and their own reason to be here. -But I believe that every person have something to give to another. Personally I'm always interested in hearing about peoples lives and experiences.
If I hear about a guy feeling like he has to lie about what kind of disablity he has I don't think 'omfg faker'; I don't approve of lying about it, but I think; why does he feel he has to lie.
I am being harsh; one might be attracted to a certain trait, -but there is no disability that is any 'better' than another...
Do people even listen long enough to see the actual person, his personality? Or to even remotly understand in what way for example cp or spina bifida affects a person?

I don't understand what would make you think such a thing. We've had and still have several (most valued) members here with CP, Spina Bifida, MD and more and never ever has anyone been discriminated for not having a SCI. That would be beyond stupid. I mean, we'd really be dumb bitches if we did that... May I ask what gave you that impression?

I don't know who's feeling unwelcome but I've met several guys here who aren't traumatic sci, if that's what you're talking about...
I've "met" a couple of guys here who had sma, one with als and the guy who used to have the most posts had spina bifida. There's another prolific member whom I think has some congenital reason he can't walk.
I'm sorry that someone's feeling like they can't be honest... but you just gotta jump in...

On the flip side, I think that many devs have specific interests and should not be ashamed that they are only attracted to certain disabilities. Yeah we are all devs, but we all also have different preferences in disability. I don't think any dev here should be ashamed to say the are only attracted to certain disabilities, there will be others who like the other disabilities and no one should feel left out.

I thought you were referring to this post on the "who's here" thread: i had a guy on herre message me saying he was a paraplegic i added him on yahoo messenegr coz he asked me to i asked him what level his responce wasd "c5" I said..erm c5 is quad hes like erm ok im sorry but im have spinabifda and if i said that you would have thought i was boring because loads of the guys on here have intresting storys about them and i was just born this way. i instantly blocked him i was literaly suprised that someone who already has a disability would fake being another disability to come across more intresting. If it is true that a guy with some other condition felt he had to lie and say he was SCI, that is unfortunate. While we do talk about specific things we like, this board has always been open to every kind of disability. There was some discussion several months ago, some claimed that we devs only like sporty paras, but it's just not true. I should hope that here of all places a guy can be honest about his disability.

Hmm, well if I've ignored any guys on here it's because I don't do online dating haha. I generally just stick to the devs only and stories boards. I guess I miss some of the drama... and that's probably a good thing. Edit: I just read that post in the devs only section, whoops.

I do have my preferances but I talk to everyone the same! I will talk to what ever disability it doesnt bother me . and i love to learn about people . were all equal but at the same time.. if someone lies about there disability you would be abit wary about the rest of the information they give you. but I give everyone a chance.
