I want to know how you guys view them... I've only ever been to one strip club (it was not a particularly nice one) but I was surprised at how sad it was. I had expected more smiles from the guys. Are they generally happy places? Do I need to visit more of them? Ummmm.......yes they are happy places......and yes you need to visit more of them (but good ones this time).......I'll buy you some lap dances.......but first a few drinks.....strippers love women customers, and give them special treatment.......

i would say the girls ARE looked-down upon by the public, yeah...especially by other women. most dancers would i think be very reluctant to admit how they make their living. thats why i'm curious about how actual hookers are viewed. cuz strippers are pretty much considered 'whores' by the folks who view the whole thing as immoral. They are most definitely looked down upon. But this has the interesting economic effect of raising compensation for the strippers, because less women are willing to do it. Most strippers make a lot more money than their customers, though I suppose that's not so unusual in the service industry if you think about bankers, doctors, lawyers, etc. But strippers usually don't pay much in taxes, so that increases their effective income even more. Of course, very few strippers actually save and use the money wisely, instead of heading over to Louis Vuitton. In Vegas, you have a lot of weekend strippers that come in to work just for the weekend, then head back home. Most are from LA, but some do fly in from places farther out.

If I come back in another life, in a HOT female body, I'll be a Vegas weekend stripper....and, I'll definitely be bisexual, or maybe just lesbian.

Sweet! Not only do I get drinks I also get a lap dance... so I'm gonna NEED the drinks. lol (The little sunglasses guy makes me a little nervous, 'Tisse. ) inigo; strip clubs, in my view, for the most part ARE places of sadness. to be fair tho, most BARS sad too-here i mean bar-bars, liquor bars; not music or places for dancing, or pub-type or restaurant/bars so much. alcohol is a depressant...so a bunch of people drinking in a dark room is, in itself, not a truly happy situation. and in a strip club, the booze is combined w/chix who mostly don't want to be there and men who aint gonna get what they REALLY want-genuine intimacy. it can be ok if youre young, i geuss. the natural strength and positivity of youth can kinda counteract a largely negative environment. Thanks, Tri, that's how it very much seemed to me. And that kinda validates why I never have loads of fun in bars. They've always seemed kinda sad to me too. I always wind up the designated driver, too so I can't get drunk enough to think I'm loving it.

And that really is the problem, I'm guessing. All that damn thinking. I know for a fact that it's cost me more than one relationship with a guy.

Like anything, it depends WHY you are going.
If you're lonely and looking for love and affection, then yeah, you're going to be sad and unfulfilled.
If you are with friends, celebrating, partying, etc., and using the presence of party-minded naked women to enhance your experience, then that's a different story.
It depends on the club, too. The seedy, run down place might be depressing. The upscale, energetic Scatlett's down near Miami is a different story. There's nothing sad about that place. And the near equal split between male and female patrons testifies to that.
I'm not a big strip club go-er, maybe a few times a year. The last few times have all been with female friends. Matisse is right, it really changes the deal.

That was kind of my point. I bet it's a similar story for legalized prostitution.

And the near equal split between male and female patrons testifies to that. I agree with that. Have been to two "strip clubs" in my life. "Chubbys" in Wisconsin, and "Red Horse" in Paris. Total opposite ends of the spectrum. Chubbys was a depressing, bump and grind atmosphere and although some of the patrons were having what appeared to be a good time, the overall mood was a darker one. Red Horse could almost be called artistic and festive. I was surprised at the amount of female patrons at both, probably more so at Chubbys!

Did they actually have lapdances, or was it just topless burlesque? There is a Vegas show called Crazy Horse Paris that is an offshoot of the original Crazy Horse cabaret in Paris. It's definitely an artsy show, with the girls obviously having professional dance training. (In addition to being unbelievably hot, of course).

I live in Australia too! Im about 3 hours from Melbourne but, to be honest ive never even been in a strip club, or a brothel for that matter,,, sad, shaded life i know,,, lol. I just never seen the allure of them for exactly the same "picture" Triassic just painted. They seem depressing and kinda manipulative of everyone involved. Mates used to go on benders to Melbourne to party, but im not at all into large, screaming, fast city life. Their like another planet in their own right, and one id rather not be on at the best of times. So the strip clubs, hookers and heavy drug scenes were never part of my life. That turned out to be a good thing for me cause i know i have a really addictive personallity and ive seen a LOT of mates get buried by it. Personally, I think most people in the strip and sex industry are just average people trying to make a wage to survive. I think they should get more respect for the fact that what they do is also reliving the stress of a lot of people who might other wise take the sex (rape) in utter frustration. I really dont know, but i think its a bennifit to society, if a reasonable standard is kept. What was the subject again,,, LMAO! Oh yeah, studly quad dude. Form the previous posts it sounds like you'll have your lap full in no time bud! Or you could go into the man whore business and get enough $$$ $$$ to have your wheelie gold dipped, lowered, slow cruizin and be out owning the town. Hire Triassic to bust up the competition and take over 2/3 of the town. He looks like he could rip strips off an iron bark tree.
