I've finally self-published a small book of short stories, entitled Goodnight Sun!! The book has been a dream of mine for a long time, and it's comprised of five fictional stories. Unfortunately, none have to do with devoism, or even being disabled. However, there are definitely truths of my life that come out in each story.

Preface
Every day the sun rises to offer a second chance to correct the story of yesterday. It’s an event we often take for granted, and yet it’s the essence of our journey. Each day is a beginning, an opportunity to redirect the past and start anew.
My own sunrise came after a car accident that nearly killed me at age 21. I suffered a spinal cord injury, which left me paralyzed from the chest down, with only limited use of my arms. But I was alive.
It has been 30 years since that night, and I’ve spent the better part of it trying to make more of my second chance than I did the first.
I went on to college, graduating in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of South Florida. I had played piano and guitar before my accident, but I’d lost the finger dexterity necessary for those instruments. So I tried my hand at writing for local music magazines, which led to a love of writing fiction and autobiographical stories — a new outlet for creative expression.
While writing performance and CD reviews for the magazines was interesting, it also piqued my interest in playing and writing music again – this time performing as a singer.
I recorded a four-song demo in a local professional recording studio with the help of a brilliant guitarist/producer. That caught the attention of some local musicians, and soon I had others to perform with. With their help, and their willingness to take a chance on a singer who remains seated, I achieved my goal of performing again in public venues. It’s quite a story unto itself, and one I hope to write eventually.
For a long time, I’ve secretly harbored a dream of publishing a small collection of short stories, however, my confidence as a writer has always plagued my ambition.
These five stories were written over many years just for fun, and while they are pure fiction, each story possesses truths about life – sometimes my life.
It is my sincere hope that you find something in each story that you can make your own. It is the hope of all artists to touch someone. Let it be you!
I hope you enjoy Goodnight Sun — A Collection of Five Short Stories.
