Ok, it seems many devs and dis/abled people arent getting their fair quota of desired delites, right? And to be honest, (as an amp) I personally could do with a little more dev-otion too. So heres the thing, no not that thing, get your mind out of the gutter and lets see how things go first ;D
I was thinking what if there was a local "hot spot" that large numbers of devs and dis/abled peeps just happened to share a liking for, in your area?
Would you go there if you knew your favorite kind of people would possibly be there, but the general public had no idea?
I ask because everyone here seems quite comfortable with the idea of each others thoughts and prefferences, yet very few ever seem to get the opportunity to mingle without the wall of the "general publics" social stigma.
I'm NOT suggesting we all point out our homes on Google Earth, lol, but we might be able to all agree on the best local pub, park or pavillion in our areas for the opportunity of running/rolling into each other by "chance".
Or should we all just start wearing gang colours? Green is NOT my colour btw, so lets not go with green, ok?
Is this a good /silly/dumb/genius/old/ idea?

IMHO the only reasonable place to open a dev-bar could be Vegas, but considering this board has today 806 members worldwide, the business would rapidly go under. So, I’ve the ultimate solution to dev/wheelers encounters just for you: dress this, we will find you.

Awesome t-shirt, Trinity! I am personally a fan of this one as a dev-magnet: www.zazzle.com/fetish_tshirt-235337052421983608As for your idea, Collide, hm, if you just mean a place where you're likely to meet devs, I'd say disabled sporting events are a good bet. There's been a lot of talk off and on about some kind of paradevo event where we all meet each other, but IMO it's just not practical. There are very very few of us devs, and we're just too spread out all over the world. And a good percentage of us on this site are not looking for dates (myself for instance). But you never know, maybe someone could make it happen. Oh and BTW welcome to the board. I meant to comment on your first post, this board is not only for SCI or wheelers, guys with all kinds of disabilities are welcome. You might have noticed, there are quite a few amputee admirers here.

Thanks for the input Devogirl and Trinity I'm more the "Im with stupid" Tshirt wearer though, lol. Just think of an Australian "My name is Earl" kinda guy with one leg ;D A bar in Vegas might go broke, but from the devs that have contacted me in the past, it seems you might get rich FAST if you opened it in Germany. Soooooo many gay dev German guys its not funny. Ive nothing against any of the aforementioned, but for the fact that im straight,,,, and not German. Maybe just a chance thing, but thats it,,, lots of gay german guys hittin me up for a chat. Oh, and thanks for the welcome Devogirl and LMAO @ your tshirt link "Im someones fetish". I found a few there myself. www.zazzle.com/rope_t_shirt-235758201015358589www.zazzle.com/dip_me_in_honey_and_throw_me_to_the_lesbians_tshirt-235991482848783111

Hi Collide!! What devogirl is saying make sense and it has been discussed here, few times before, BUT... Maybe we should think of a meeting place in each continent/country (of members of this board) to start with, (Am I making sense?!?!) then...who knows...could go "global". I'm sure people here love travel and met new people, specially if it's going to be dev/whellers...I really think it could work, just need a start I guess...

Good point Alibara, but what country would you suggest favours the most members in this forum? Hey if its Australia, we might be able to get Opera to show up too Well, she is here atm and does seem to want to soak up as much of Oz culture as she can while shes here. Opera, if you are reading this, you are formally invited to the Australian annual para/amp/dev meeting. Its a long standing/sitting cultural event of Australian history and tradition that no true tourist should possibly miss. P.S. Please dont bring the rest of the Builderberg group as they are a grabby, stingy bunch who will only want to take over the whole show. Im sure you understand. P.P.S. Its also a tradition the the richest person at the meeting should buy everyone else a new car Ill have a red one please. Dunno if that will get her attention, but who knows, it just might work.

"Opera"..."Builderberg"...you are really on a role! [sic]... ;D Hell yeah , It's been reported on several occassions that Opera has sat in on more than one Builderberg meeting. And i guess its not too hard to fathom when you concider she's one of the richest, if not the richest woman on the planet, and also has a firm grasp on American TV and print media. And yes, im a big conspiracy theory fan I figgure if even only one tenth of it is true, then there's "something" to concider. In any case, im sure Julian Assange will Wikileak the hell out of it. Now theres a pretty good example of "things to hide"in itself. And he's only releasing stuff from "civil secret services". ie: polliticians, millitary exploits and such. Imagine what we might see if Julian got his eyeballs on the black opps stuff Im guessing if the USA get their hands on him, his eyballs will be all over a wall, with the rest of his skull. Public servants? who are they kidding? More like millitant lawyers, i say! Ok this is the wrong thread for condeming pollitics, so lets just pretend nothing was ever said, nothing to see here, just look into the little light,,,,,, [glow=red,2,300]"FLASH"[/glow]

Hi Collide and welcome from Sydney the new home of the Oprah House and traffic chaos this morning because of the lady herself . It's nice to see another Aussie guy on here and the number of Aussies on the board finally reaching a critical mass (at least during my time on it, anyway). The idea of a get together on each continent is not a bad one and I have talked about this in passing with a few of the Aussie guys and girls. If you guys are serious about it, I am happy to try and organise something. The only issue is we have to cover members from QLD, NSW, Vic and SA. Hey Doe, im glad you think it might be a possibillity too. Im in regional Vic, so Sydney is a fair ways off for me, but still possible. Maybe we could get more people involved if we gave it some time for people to actually find out about it, then plan it into their lives, for a bigger turn out? Possibly the 3rd or 4th month in the new year?

Oh and Collide, I'm guessing that winter will be the time you get snuggling iniquilty . Love it! No, no, no, Doe, <<<sounds like a song). Im an Aussie, so I only sleep in a doona, not a quilt. So i guess that would make it an Indoonaty. Thats not as verbally clever as in-i-quilty, but much more sensible than those rediculous blankets with sleeves,,, or that guy with the Shamwahh. (You gettin this camera guy). Even an Eskimo wouldnt wear one of those sleeved blanket things, right? Im sure they would rather skin a yak (or shamwahh guy) and wear that instead. But im not an Eskimo so im only guessing there.
