This is totally off topic... but... You misspelled iniquity. And I wouldn't mention it but (go ahead, canadians... make fun) it's cold here right now and every time I read it... Iniquilty... I think, that's exactly where I am. In a quilty. ;D Please don't change it. I´m in a plaid! ;D I was going to reply "im in a socket" but I realized just how hot I am in it (sweatty hot,,, not sexy hot). Funny thing is, I used to ALWAYS feel the cold, but since ive had my thigh wrapped in a socket, ive never really been fussed on cold days. And now im always in board shorts, even on freezing days. The practicallity of it is I dont have to dress and undress a manequin leg every time I need to take the leg off. And it might, just might attract a cute dev someday I put it down to having the socket on my left side and guess the blood is pumping through there then on to the right side, so it gets pre heated in the socket first,,,,,,,,, maybe. Anyone else had the same experience?

Anyone else had the same experience? Well, I think there is an old saying, that if you keep your feet warm, then you keep your body warm. Maybe the same thing applies to your thigh? Biologically/physiologically it´s interesting really, how bodily sensations can change/move, when a limp has been amputated; i.e for instance the discussion about phantom pain.

My circulation is bad so I get hot easily. Not as easily as a quad who can't sweat but still... When it's cold outside (I'm talking SoCal cold) I'm usually fine with just a regular long sleeve shirt or less. When I get home however, I realize that my legs are freezing cold compared to the rest of me. I bet in areas that are actually cold, frostbite is a concern for a lot of wheelers. And this devo wheeler meeting ground in Oz is unfair! I think we should muster all the people in attendance on a map, then take a weighted average of travel to find the mutually fairest location ... Los Angeles California. Trust my math, that's the best place to have it. Oh, and in response to the bilderberg protagonists. Give it a break, none of us are going to see it coming or be able to say, "see, I told you so." Reminds me of a comedy show I saw recently where the stereotyping cop says, "Ok, lets go use the old tricks on him. Good cop black cop." Change is good.

Oh and Collide, I'm guessing that winter will be the time you get snuggling iniquilty . Love it! No, no, no, Doe, <<<sounds like a song). Im an Aussie, so I only sleep in a doona, not a quilt. So i guess that would make it an Indoonaty. Thats not as verbally clever as in-i-quilty, but much more sensible than those rediculous blankets with sleeves,,, or that guy with the Shamwahh. (You gettin this camera guy). Even an Eskimo wouldnt wear one of those sleeved blanket things, right? Im sure they would rather skin a yak (or shamwahh guy) and wear that instead. But im not an Eskimo so im only guessing there. Don't diss my snugglie, man, there will be war. ;D

Interesting point about over heating wheelieincali, I never even concidered temp probs for quads. You have any methods for keeping cool, or is it just a common sense way of dealing with it? LMAO @ "good cop, black cop" Gotta luv Reno 911.

IMHO the only reasonable place to open a dev-bar could be Vegas. Vegas would be worth a trip to have a meeting, but I guess that will never happen A small resort on a tropic island with a singn outside Devs & Wheelers only is also a nice idea ;D Anyone here ever been in a cool accessible resort somewhere in the sunshine?

We went to a Sandals resort in Jamaica called Royal Caribbean which was mostly accessible and the Jamaicans were so friendly and helpful that I bet they would jump at the chance to do anything special you would need. I do know they have WC accessible rooms with roll in showers.

Overheating isn't really an issue for me as a para, but for quads it is. I have never had to worry about it much but I do set my air conditioner ridiculously low. Some quads mentioned their methods for dealing with the cold here paradevo.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=2463. I think in the heat, dysreflexia is a concern and if it strikes the quad needs to get to AC quick. Is that right guys? As far as resorts go, I got a great deal on a little place in Puerto Rico called the Coqui Inn coqui-inn.net/, it was cool and the people who worked there were very nice and would have helped with anything if they had been asked. It's away from crowded areas and would be perfect for low key hotel parties. I bet if we bought out all the rooms the guys would give us a great deal. Alternatively, we could do it in a hotel banquet hall or rent a venue and call it the D&W devotional (not many people would get that). Keep it open to all different people though so that guests and the timid could mingle and still feel incognito. Devs of the world unite! I would love to help coordinate it. Set up a anonymous RSVP website so we could get an idea on dates, numbers, and possible locations. Charge a cover and make it just look like a big party put together by a bunch of wheelers. I wonder if this might work.

Ok, it seems many devs and dis/abled people arent getting their fair quota of desired delites, right? And to be honest, (as an amp) I personally could do with a little more dev-otion too. So heres the thing, no not that thing, get your mind out of the gutter and lets see how things go first ;D I was thinking what if there was a local "hot spot" that large numbers of devs and dis/abled peeps just happened to share a liking for, in your area? Would you go there if you knew your favorite kind of people would possibly be there, but the general public had no idea? I ask because everyone here seems quite comfortable with the idea of each others thoughts and prefferences, yet very few ever seem to get the opportunity to mingle without the wall of the "general publics" social stigma. I'm NOT suggesting we all point out our homes on Google Earth, lol, but we might be able to all agree on the best local pub, park or pavillion in our areas for the opportunity of running/rolling into each other by "chance". Or should we all just start wearing gang colours? Green is NOT my colour btw, so lets not go with green, ok? Is this a good /silly/dumb/genius/old/ idea? Awesome idea. I should start a meetup.com group and say in the description "If you know what a dev is, this is the group for you"!
