...you've ever walked around your house in a 28" wide box to make sure there are good wheelchair paths. Love it!

...you're late for work because you were following a wheeler... in your car... and almost ran off the road. ...you notice a wheelchair in the back of a car on the highway, and follow it... and miss your exit. ...you get angry at the handicapped parking spaces in front of your work because they are empty. ...you still have your Becky doll...and wheelchair. ...you have a drawer full of medical supply catalogs. ...you get annoyed when you see new construction in your neighborhood that isn't accessible. ...you use the term accessible and you mean "handicap accessible". ...you watched Blind Fury more than once...on purpose. I'm sure I have more, but I'm tired... LOL Lucretia wins! ;D

You spot a hot wheeler in the grocery store and go back over the same isles 6 times to end up in the same one at the same time while trying to look nonchanlant...

the squeaky sound of a wheel on tile makes your pulse race
(ditto an electric clicking sound)
you are always scanning the horizon at waist/chest level for hot guys and not even noticing all the ones at eye level
you never pass an elevator without a hopeful glance
you know where all the wheelchair seating sections are at your local sports/entertainment venues

...you have tire tracks on the roof of your car, and they're not from a bike.

Hopeful glances at elevators, I like that one!
The sound of wheels on tile too, oh that does get my hopes up.

I LOVE having a chair in the shower. It's very convenient for shaving.

It certainly made me smile every time I took a shower, anyways. The two level thing could be tricky. I will say that rearranging with a creative eye can make a world of difference. My prized possession is a canopy queen bed - 7'2" posts in a room with 7'4" ceilings!!! There's a hanging light fixture in the room that requires the bed to be 6" away from the wall so that the canopy rails don't hit it, which didn't leave enough room for a wheelchair path... so I ended up taking apart part of the canopy so I could move the bed over! Life of a dev. Luckily I am, apparently, half monkey and can operate an allen wrench while clinging to a bed post with one arm... or does that make me half stripper??

Why didn't you remove the light fixture?

I LOVE having a chair in the shower. It's very convenient for shaving. And other things, I bet! On a side note... not that this makes me more or less of a dev, but I just realized today, just now really... how inaccessible (unaccessible?) my apartment is!! There's only the one step up and in... no huge barrier I guess... but once in, it's a design nightmare. I hadn't actually boxed it out with my arms spread open, but I guess I should have. Not that the doorways are very narrow, but it's two levels and the bathroom is upstairs... NOT convenient! And while it always seemed large enough to me, when I figured out that with the table and chairs, the freezer and cupboards in the kitchen I only have about 24" of space to maneuver on all sides... and also to get into my living room... NOT a good space all... I'm thinking this was not a good plan... LOL My apartment is no good at all. I am so short sighted sometimes.

Oooh lucretia, sounds promising!!!! ;D Happy for you!!!! And I DID try to take the light fixture down, but it's mounted into the ceiling. So unless I wanted a spontaneous sky light (into the attic), the bed was the thing that had to move. I was living in a fourth floor apartment before this... ended up here by merit of my ferret, and it just happened to be mostly wheeler friendly too. ;D
