I decided to make a poll about preferred chat times. Please select your answers and we will see where it leads us. We will do the time that suits most people and we can make a poll from time to time to allow for changes. I think our main interest is to have chats that allow for the largest number of people to attend at any given time - what I would call flexible chats. I hope this makes sense to you. If you have not participated in chats before then feel absolutely free to do so. Every devotee is welcome and the more the merrier  . Yesterday I ordered "Equal Opportunities" by Mathilde Madden so I hope we can choose that one for June. |

I can accept almost all the choices. I have only one hour away from EST time.
Sometimes, the weekend could be harder but, if I´m at home... I have no problem. I only need to know it with time because then, I arrange my schedule.

I'm not going to vote yet because I need to try a chat out first. I'm not sure whether our sometimes hit-and-miss internet here will support spoken-chat (unless we do a mixture of talk and type - not quite sure how it works). I'll try and give the next one a shot (at whatever time it ends up being) and see how it works. If it works out well, THEN I'll add my vote to the group...

Oh all right , if you insist... LOL, Merry, it´s just a way of finding the time that works best for all of us. The more people who answer, the better data we are going to have. If it is going to take place at night (my time) in the future, then I may not be able to participate  , but then so be it. I also think we should chat more often so we all get a chance to join . |

You're going to love the chat, Merry! It's a lot of fun. It's like a group of girlfriends talking about everything and there's a little bit of typing too, particularly if we want to share links, but it's mostly talking. It's very energizing and uplifting.

the first and fourth options on this poll are actually the same... I was thinking that the difference between them is the flexibility. In the first option we all start at 6.00 PM EST and in the fourth option those of us who are ready, start at 6.00 PM EST and others join in when they are ready to do so. I am a proponent of flexible chats, so I think it could be coming and going to accomodate people´s different needs and availabilities . |

Just to recap on the poll of book clubs and chats: Adding numbers: 10 people are able to start at 6.00 PM EST 11 people are able to start at 7.00 PM EST 13 people are able to start at 8.00 PM EST 1 person would like to have a weekend chat. I think that numbers show that flexible chats are definitely an option . Going on what the majority wants, chats should start at 8.00 PM EST. I probably won´t be able to participate in the late chats in the future so I also recommend a thread here about the book club selection of the month. |
