Here's a question for all my fellow wheelers. When you ream are you AB or wheeled? I've been in a wheelchair 15 years but had never had a dream that i'm in one. I'm always AB in my dreams.

It is a mixture of both. Yet many dreams dont have me in them as a character.

As a non-wheeler, I have had one or two dreams where I have been in a chair. How 'bout any of you other non-dis folks?

About a week before my accident, I had a dream that I was using a wheelchair. Coincidence? Probably. But the timing was interesting. Wow Jason, that IS freaky.

I had a dream many years ago that the man I was married to (who was AB) was in a chair. Of course, I loved it but didn't feel I could tell him, either in the dream or real life.

Oh jeez, I dream about hot rollerboys all the time...often when I have dated an AB guy he will show up in my dreams with some sort of disability. I always feel guilty about that, because I don't wish harm on anyone. Ironically, when I was dating a quad, I frequently dreamed that he could walk, I don't know why. In one dream, I was really startled, and asked how he was able to do it, and he replied that it was a trick they taught him in rehab. I think it's interesting that many of you guys dream that you're walking or something but the wheelchair is still there...my ex said the same thing, he often dreamed that he was carrying the chair, or had lost it or something. Also a guy I know who was blind from birth told me he sometimes dreamed that he could see, or at least according to the logic of the dream he was seeing even though there weren't any visual images per se. Dreams are weird.

I don't have sexual dreams that often but when I do they almost always involve wheelers.

I had a hot sexual dream the other night, where I was the disabled one. I remember not being able to move and I was watching the guy do oral and other things to me.
I also have had dreams with wheelers and blind guys.

I'm not SCI, my problem is neuromuscular. I used to get around on crutches. In my dreams I'm often on crutches, or ambulating very shakily w/o them. Sometimes completely AB, even athletic. Often in a w/c, but it morphs into a car or bike or something. Interestingly I've never dreamed I'm MORE impaired than I actually am. How about that? Any para's dream they were quads?

As a non-wheeler, I have had one or two dreams where I have been in a chair. How 'bout any of you other non-dis folks? For decades, I've had a recurrent dream about using crutches that were either so outsized that I couldn't get anywhere (made of two-by-fours, with gym mats for axillary padding), or that I knew I was using as a disguise, to fool my mother into not attacking me. In one dream, I was using them to cover up for being more competent than my older brother at some game, while my mother scrutinized us suspiciously, arms folded across her chest. As I've become less neurotic, the crutches have gotten progressively smaller. About the time I resumed using forearm crutches for a pesky hip gone massively arthritic, my dream-crutches also shrank themselves into forearm crutches. On a few occasions, a mere cane made an appearance. I don't remember any recent dreams with an orthopedic theme.
