New Comic Book Hero “Silver Scorpion” Is A Muslim Boy In A WheelchairSure we have a blind superhero in Dare Devil, but it’s not too often we see a super hero in a wheelchair, it’s even less often that the character is Muslim, but that’s the idea behind “The Silver Scorpion” a new comic from Liquid Comics.
Apparently the comic started when a US philanthropist who was inspired by President Obama’s attempt to reach out to the Muslim world by meeting with disabled American and Syrian kids.
The author says that when each child asked what superpower they wanted, none of them said they wanted their disabilities healed, hence the new hero is wheelchair bound, albeit in the coolest chair we’ve ever seen.
According to the co-founder of Liquid Comics: “They were empowered by their own disabilities, and they should not be seen as a source of weakness,
The Silver Scorpion seen above may not be the final edition of his character, although it’s rumored that he will control metal with his mind, sort of like a “disabled Magneto”This is the description that was posted in different comics sites. It´s Free but, I couldn´t dowload it because it seems to be a problem with the FB authentication... So, I created a pdf for you First, the Promo images: And this is the link of the pdf that I uploaded to Megaupload: www.megaupload.com/?d=Q8C61I47

I've been selfish... here's another recent comic book hero in a chair. I assumed that most here who would be interested already knew? Sorry, I don't think he's Muslim, anisara. Soldier Zero Stuart Trautmann is the man behind Soldier Zero. However, before becoming a hero of Earth and the galaxy, he was a Captain in the Marines for the United States. While on a trip back home from Afghanistan his convoy was attacked by a bombing, which killed his entire team and also rendered him unable to walk! Finding out the bad news about not being able to walk again, Stuart decided to leave the marines and become an Astronomy TA at a college back in his hometown. Throughout his time in a wheelchair Stuart has been deemed, helpless, and constantly gets help from friends and family. The only family that Stuart is currently alive is his older brother, James Trautmann. James is overprotective and will protect Stuart to the extent of his on life being placed on the line. Most of this changed when Stuart gained the Soldier Zero alien tech. Stuart had a love life before meeting Soldier Zero. His love, Lily, was the only person that understood him and would do anything to get his disability to be looked over by others. When the two of them were out stargazing, Soldier Zero crashed down on top of them and destroyed a building. With both lives hanging in the balance, Soldier Zero bonded with Stuart to save himself and Lilly! While everyone ended up safe in the end, Soldier Zero didn't come alone. The more powerful and evil version of Soldier Zero, Soldier One, has come to execute Zero once and for all! Stuart and Soldier Zero encounter threats from both, space and Earth, but are always prepared as a united hero! I have the first three issues... I need to buy the others. Dammit... never mind... he's walking by issue nine. I'm suddenly so glad that I didn't subscribe. =/ I'm still going to buy the others... but I guess I'll be stopping at that issue... or 8. Bleh. Bastards.

I love the first description! None of the kids said they would want to be healed when asked about super powers. That's so sweet.
Second one... G*dd*mn cure. Will no one ever tire of that pathetic plot device?
I've heard of Real, I haven't read it.

Wow very cool. I like the first guy the best and love that they didn't just put him in prosthetics. Are there more disabled heroes in comics than TV and movies?

Hmm I wonder why that is Val. I kinda though that was the case since you are always posting stuff from comics but don't read them myself. We definately need some more attractive, successful disabled guys in TV and movies.
