Perhaps, you had seen it link before... I didn´t!! I was looking to see this movie for so long and I could never find it. I regulary checked Youtube, Torrentz and eMule looking for this one... I could never find it till today... I finally found it!... The old... "The Men" (I hate the music... is too loud and go and go during the entire movie and it has portuguese subtitles) It was weird to see wheelers in that kind of wheelchairs! LOL... the movie, for me, doesn´t pull any of my "dev strings". But it was a surprise the character Angel (Arthur Jurado)... he was - or is- a real para; was he? I post the link in case you haven´t it. It´s the entire movie... 1hr. 23 min.... if you download it... it´s only 350mb.

I own the DVD and have seen it at least five times. I love the movie. Not so much the film as such, but as a huge Brando fan, him as a para is super yummy for me. I couldn't care less that he's not "real". The guy who played Angel...well, he might be "real", but he's soooo not my type and the worst actor ever.
The film seems very old-fashioned to us and I agree, the music is a little annoying at times, but it's the style films were made in back in those days, so I don't mind. Besides, the writer and director really wanted to educate the people about the life of vets and that was a very rare thing back then. So it was actually a "progressive" film. Think about how old it is! The movie adresses the predjudice a person in a wheelchair was confronted with back then. They were total outcasts. The scene in the restaurant, where everybody stares at him and people begin to whisper without even trying to conceal it, is a very realistic scenario. Or the guy in the bar, the one Brando hits eventually, who gives them money and is so condescending. Very realistic in the 50's.
For me, there are MANY devolicious moments with Brando. I totally recommend it.
