Came across this in the press today and was wondering if any of you have ever being to an exhibition like this, and if so how you found it? According to the article they have done this in the US before - this is the first time it's been done in South Africa. mg.co.za/article/2011-08-10-seeing-in-the-darkdialogueinthedarksa.blogspot.com/I'm planning on dragging my husband there as soon as feasible. Suspect it may be a pretty good night out

Looks interesting Merry but reminds me a little of those disability days I have heard of where they have people spend a day in a wheelchair. You can't get a true sense of what it's like to have a disability for life by trying it out or a few hours and leave only thinking how tough it was.

There's a restaurant in New York City that plays off of this - the whole place is dark and all the waiters are sight-impaired! I think it's really cool, though like Emma said, it doesn't give a true impression of what life is like "on the other side". Hopefully, it will at least open some eyes... no pun intended.
