Well girls...I've finally done it! I finally created an account and decided to come out of lurking mode It feels good to know that there is a place where I can take questions about this kind of stuff to and it also feels good to know there is a place to go when I'm down or confused (or happy!!) and not be afraid of judgement So in advance, and I hope this isn't too presumptuous of me, thank you girls A little about me... My name's Eliza Jane--an old familial name (I'm from the South) but anyone who knows me at all calls me EJ. It's much less formal lol. I'm college as a history/archaeological anthropology major... we'll see how that goes haha Anyways I'm really looking forward to diving into the "community" here and getting to know all of you!

Dude! She's got another thread that's NOT in Dev's Only! Delete, please. EJ, welcome from another Southern girl (only one name though, lol). I was actually talking about that the other day with some colleagues... the two-name thing.

Thanks everyone! Wow Ruth and Brandi--that's so awesome! I used to think anthropology was a rare field, I'm learning it's really quite broad because there is so much you can do with it. I want to go into historical preservation, for example. Kudos to you Brandi for getting your Ph.D--scary and exciting! I hope to eventually do that someday so I might have questions for you at some point lol. Inigo, I used to positively despise my name! I wanted something "ordinary" like Clare (my best friend's name lol) but alas...I guess being "ordinary" was never in my fate huh? lol lavly: I would LOVE to participate in book club! I'm afraid I might have missed the boat on this one though haha but I might be able to get involved next time. Honestly, it depends on what kind of reading I have to do for class...lol
