As Emma talked about last night in chat, author Robyn Bradley put up a post today about her experience turning Support Our Troops into the novel What Happened in Granite Creek and how the universe brought her Emma to help her make the quad amputee character realistic! www.robynbradley.com/serendipity-devotees/

I just posted a comment on her post about the issues with the wiki article she linked in it. *sigh* we really do need to do something about that! I hate the lumping of devs with pretenders and wannabes it does.

Yeah, it's true. They need to be separate pages, or at least separate sections!

Thanks for sharing this! What a great post! It's always so nice when authors respond positively to finding out about us. Looks like she got the devo bump in her sales, haha.
But yeah, that Wikipedia article is a problem. Flag away, people.

If the book does well, she's going to do a novella about one of the side characters who will turn out to be a dev. I noticed one sentence that made me think the character was going that way!
Robyn lives in MA, so I'm actually going to meet her when I'm home for Thanksgiving. I told her that Emma and I would love to help her get the dev details right in the new story.
I love the term "devo bump." It's so true! When we find a book, a whole bunch of people pounce on it! Which is awesome.

But yeah, that Wikipedia article is a problem. Flag away, people. It IS a problem. Please respond to the thread about this in the other section - I suggested some changes. Do we all agree? I donĀ“t want to go and make a lot of revisions of the article on my own. It has to be group based, i.e. I need all the input I can get and then I am happy to do the practical job of revising it ...

I finally got around to reading What Happened in Granite Creek. My review is up on the reviews site. It's great! Actually not really a dev-centric book, but still fantastic. I recommend it!

Ugh, I wasn't feeling well and missed chat. I am sorry, would have loved to have been there. It is AWESOME that she saw devotees in a positive light!

It's true. It's a really excellent book, though not all that devy, despite the amputee character. I stayed up really late to finish it and then was so emotionally involved that I couldn't sleep. lol.

I too read the book a few weeks ago and ended up staying up later than expected since I was so into the story. Did you guys see the mention of "Emma" and her amputee husband in the acknowledgments at the end?
