this may have been addressed before, but i couldn't find any old threads when i looked.
the question is directed primarily, but not exclusively, to the wheelers on the board.
among your other guy friends in chairs, how is the devotee (as a concept) received?
it seems we are fairly reviled on other boards on the web...do your friends know about this site? what do they think?
i'm curious because i have never "outed" myself to my wheeler friends and there may come a time when i'd consider doing so. just wondering what i'd be up against as far as preconceived notions, etc.

I don't think it's discussed too openly among the guys. At least with -E- and his fellow wheelers, that is. He asks me not to bring it up or be too "loud and proud" about it. He talks about how much he loves the dev factor, but the subject is very hush-hush when there's other parties involved.

I've read a novel based on real life experience where the existence of devos and wannabees is discussed a bit like a fairy tale, like the existence of Atlantis, even though there is actually a devo lady caracter in it...

So Sidney, your saying you'd rather date a devo or you wouldn't mind? Would you rather know up front?

I've been chaired for thirteen yrs and just recently heard about this site...I don't think it's discussed (devs) because we as guys don't care. We, like anyone, enjoy the attention from regular girls, devs, or just hot women in general. I don't know much about devs, but I know a lot of chics at the sporting events seem to be attracted to guys or girls on wheels. All the friends I have don't care...and I mean REALLY don't care. Especially if they're gonna score! In the group I hang out with it wouldn't matter if you "outed" yourself or not. I think it's a good thing there is a fetish for us GREAT looking people out there...so if it must be said...hit it while you can. Both devs and wheelers.

teacher, this is my exact opinion about the whole thing... I've never "outed" myself to a wheeler... it doesn't matter. I just find him hot and one of the hot things is the wheels. I keep it very simple. I don't know if it's even a "fetish" because I certainly don't get turned on by all wheelers (in fact, like many of the gals on this board, I am kind of picky). So call me, what you want, but if you are a hot guy using a chair or crutches or whatever... I will be piqued!

I only know one wheeler. He likes the concept. My AB friends think it's great. I have one buddy who finds women we guess might be devos even sexier. Go figure.

In my experience the subject is not being discussed among wheelers. I have surprised quite a few by bringing it up, and it seems like there’s a 50/50 split when it comes to the acceptance of devotees, some guys think it’s just plain weird and others find it pretty cool.
Now I am also certain that some of those who say they find it strange actually secretly dig the idea but they are unwilling to admit it.

Even my parents are stoked! love it!!! ;D I've never "outed" myself to a wheeler... it doesn't matter. I just find him hot and one of the hot things is the wheels. I keep it very simple. I don't know if it's even a "fetish" because I certainly don't get turned on by all wheelers (in fact, like many of the gals on this board, I am kind of picky). that's exactly how i feel about it too, AB. thanks everyone for your input so far. it's something i've been wondering about for a while.

Several wheeler guys have told me they heard vague rumors of such a thing when they were in rehab, but dismissed it as wishful thinking. The reaction I have often gotten is, "So you DO exist!" I usually reply, "Yes, but I'm the only one."

I've never talked with my mates and other wheelers. I shall approach the subject with them one day!

I really don't know what to say, I've never talked to my friends I'm a devo, 'cause I don't know how they'll react, because even for some wheelers is kind of unacceptable, just thinking in my AB friends seems very difficult. There's a site in wich must of the users, just complain about people who want's to get involved withe them and they get upset cause of that, the write things that reflects how sad they live, it's a shame, everybody should be as nice as you are and that recognize it isn't that bad finding a devotee.

Guess i'm strange, but i don't have any close chair friends, except Triassic, and he turned me on to this board last Summer when i met him. I did tell a few ABs, as it came up in conversation, and they just acted quiet. I think it's a great question, Dolly, but i think most people (ABs and Chairs) have zero understanding of it, and i think most people think it's weird.
I put an ad on Match.com, and got only a few responses from girls i wasn't attracted to, and zero responses back from girls with ads, so i'm thinking you dev girls are a rare animal. Hopefully not going extinct!!! lol
