My self-summary
Opportunity does not knock, it presents itself when you
beat down the door.
Hey there, My name is Matt and I've started a new
chapter in my life.
I believe in honesty and openness. I'm a low-key, cup half full
nerd in a wheelchair. I know you might be turned off by the whole
nerdy, geek thing, but keep reading.
We all wear shoes, I just have a set of wheels to help me get
around. I'm very open about my disability so if you have questions
don't be shy to ask. I don't stress about the little things.
Clubs are not my idea of fun, I'd rather go bowling or stay home
watching a movie with someone special. It's always fun to see a
Mariners game or to go on a road-trip to California's central
coast. I'm always there for my family and friends, so if you need
me, I'm there.
What I’m doing with my lifeWell, I'm writing a book. I'm exploring how to use my writing to change ideas about disability and some of the misconceptions about it. It's a very challenging process, but worth the work. Touching people with my words and ideas is an awesome feeling. I need a creative outlet to make me happy.
Also, check out my blog,

I often play around with a multitude of electronic media, ranging from work in Photoshop to computer animation. I love digital art forms, as they give you a huge amount of freedom to try new things and experiment.
I'm a geek with gasoline in my veins. I love the smooth lines of 1960s Ferraris or the organic nature of 40's wood bodied cars. In the summer, you can often find me at vintage races and shows. There is nothing like the sound of a V12 engine roaring to life, the sound is raw and piercing.
I’m really good at
Putting people at ease and having meaningful
conversations.
Being there for those I care about, it comes easily.
Being somewhat of a human encyclopedia, so I am told.
If you want a private tour guide, I'm your guy!
The first things people usually notice about me
Aside from my super obvious wheelchair then it's usually either my blue eyes, and my ride. Emotionally, people notice my good outlook on life and outgoing nature.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I am an avid reader of great literature; I tend to read a lot.
I really enjoy political thrillers and science fiction, especially
the Bourne series by Robert Ludlum, Isaac Asimov's "I, robot,"
Orson Scott card's "Ender's Game," and The Mars Trilogy by Kim
Stanley Robinson. Sherlock Holmes is my favorite literary
character. You can often find me reading a good book of
nonfiction; history and science are my favorite
subjects. For me, a good book is one that makes you think.
I am a major movie buff, so you better enjoy
movies; my taste in film is very broad from film noir to
documentaries. I won't list my favorites movies, as it would be
miles long. I also really enjoy Anime, especially anything from
Studio Ghibli.
My favorite TV shows are Big Bang Theory, Dr. Who (on BBC), Family
Guy, NCIS (Abby is awesome, my favorite goth!), Top Gear, The IT
Crowd, The Daily Show,The Colbert Report, and Myth Busters. I also
like to watch educational programming on PBS, Discovery, and The
Science Channel.
I love TED talks. Look it up. I like NPR.
I love seafood, pizza, and Mexican. Damn you, delicious but
horrible for me greasy food! These days, I'm trying to eat
a healthy balanced diet (but easier said than done)!
I'm not a huge spicy food person, but I do like some heat. I have a
love-hate relationship with vegetables. I hate eggplant and peas,
but I love broccoli.
My musical tastes are extremely varied, from Blues to Progressive
Rock. Some of my favorite bands are Sting, Yes, Journey, Dave
Matthews, Phil Collins, ZZ Top, Jack Johnson, Ladysmith Black
Mambazo, The Alan Parsons Project, Eric Clapton, Bob and Ziggy
Marley, Paul Simon, No Doubt, Metallica (especially the old stuff),
Foster the People, and Pink Floyd.
I love this song.

Music, because it feeds the soul. I wonder if my soul has taste
buds?
Good friends. I need to be around people or I could go
nuts,
wouldn't you? We are social animals after all.
Family (including the furry type) is not an option. Well , I could
do without the cat stealing my dinner. Bad kitty.
My Macbook, it allows me to be creative, so my imagination can
flow.
Books are my muses. I love to read.
Public spaces, where the community can gather, particularly farmers
markets.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My random thoughts. What is the cat staring at? Do I sleep walk, because that would be a miracle? The latest scientific discoveries. What am I going to write next?
What does it mean to be disabled?
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching a good movie, hopefully cuddling with a wonderful women. I also enjoy having a nice dinner at a casual restaurant or spending time with the family (the furry ones included). =^.^=
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Clowns creep me out. When I was 10, I called the police on a guy, thinking, he had a bazooka; not knowing it was a Potato Gun. As a kid, I sort of let my imagination run away with me, and I still have a powerful imagination.
