Sorry for the wait. Things are starting to get pretty hectic, so I will probably have to move to an every-other-week posting schedule (as opposed to weekly). I know that means a longer wait between episodes, but this way I can make sure I'm able to keep posting regularly rather than leaving you guys hanging for extended stretches of time.

So, I'm going to post this tomorrow on the blog. Wanted to post it tonight, but DG I believe posted an episode so I didn't want to steal her thunder...

I felt it had to be said... So... anyway, here it is:

Dear Readers,


This isn't an update in the traditional sense. But I wanted to write you a note, from me to you before the next episode goes up.


I know you guys are getting impatient to see Re and Kai finally have their talk. I promise it is coming, and I promise that it will likely be your absolute favorite part of In/Exhale. It will be deliciously devy and angsty and lovely.


I am putting the final touches on that day right now and it will definitely make all the waiting worth it.


I PROMISE.


As I warned you all in the introduction, I/E can get melodramatic at times. That's just what it is. I know you want to see Re and Kai together finally, but please trust me that all that's happening until then is essential to when the moment finally occurs.


There's a reason that I say I could never take I/E commercial (that is, publish it), and it's because I let myself linger and explore all the side stories of the other characters, etc. I realize this style is very different from most other things published here, or even from my other fiction, but it is what it is. And it's one of the reasons I call it a soap.


The moment in which Renee finally learns about Kai's MLS is one of the most important parts of the entire I/E timeline (which runs from ~1996 through the present, nearly 20 years!), and so I need to lay the groundwork for it.


Everything is leading up to that moment.


Think of it as a season finale, if you will. The pinnacle point that every single episode has been leading you towards until you're at the edge of your seat, heart pumping, crying, shouting, seeing how all those little, seemingly insignificant moments brought you to that wonderful climax.


My plan has always been to explore everything that builds toward that moment, then leave you marinating in it for a while as I figure out how next to take you through this epic story.

I know a lot of people enjoyed the last episode with her, so I wanted to know if this is something you guys would like me to post or you'd prefer I skip it and chug along toward the finale, which I know everyone is getting anxious for.

Let me know. I remember the last episode I almost didn't post everyone loved and couldn't believe I wasn't going to post it, so figured I'd ask. LOL.

LOL! OK . I just re-read it. It's a pretty good episode, and it's self-contained (meaning I can post it all at once). I guess I'll see what others have to say.

Just wanted to say, even though I said I'd update every other week, I've nearly gotten all the rest of the remaining episodes wrapped up, so I might be able to go to weekly... we'll see.

But I have everything planned out - there should be 31 episodes total by the time we reach the finale, at least as of now... It might technically be 32 as the finale may be two parts, though I likely will post both parts together so I don't leave you guys cursing me, lol.

The Table of Contents is updated with the upcoming episodes you can expect. I decided to throw in two days I would have otherwise kept for myself since the resounding consensus seemed to be "post everything!," lol.

Also, you'll note that the final episode before the season finale leaves a bit of a jump, as several weeks pass... This morning I thought about it and decided I'm going to do a journal entry from Kai's POV to bridge that time gap and kind of let you know what happened in between. Figured it's a way to make sure everyone's up to speed without dragging along anymore than necessary, plus it's a nice homage to the roots of the story (since I/E originally started out as journal entries from the main characters, Kai, Jon, and Becca).



So glad you guys have been enjoying I/E. It's been such a rush to go back to this critical point in the story and fill in the gaps and to find out things about the characters maybe I hadn't even realized after all these years .

Thanks! I have a test in my ASL class on Thurs, so I may post the next episode then, after class, if no one else has posted on that day, as a reward .
