JG - so glad you enjoyed it! Jon has a very special place in my heart. But here's what I wanted to know/say: OK, guys... I'm working hard on season 2 so there won't be too much of a break between seasons (hopefully). There will be a LOT more ASL in S2, and we'll get to meet David (Kai's roommate from the group home where he grew up). Both Kai and David have several namesigns - think of them as "nicknames" that are shorthand for a person, always given to you by a Deaf individual. Kai's "official" namesign from school was "hearing" made with the "K" handshape instead of the usual "1" handshape. David's is basically the sign for "red" made with the index finger of the "D" handshape (because has really red hair). Sign for HEARING: lifeprint.com/asl101/pages-signs/h/hearing.htmSign for RED: lifeprint.com/asl101/pages-signs/r/red.htmBut Kai and David also had private namesigns for each other. I haven't settled on what those were yet. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know! |
