I have a horrible, terribly, terribly selfish request for those of you planning to do NaNoWriMo in November. Please, please, please update your stories AT LEAST right before the end of October!!! November is gonna be a long, dry month for your anxious readers. We wish you all much, much success with it... but we'll miss you while you're gone!

Here's the link for anyone who isn't sure what we're talking about! (sorry the site is so "busy" looking) www.advancedfictionwriting.com/art/snowflake.php

I am soooo excited to start. I have even done a book cover in readiness. Unfortunately they have a glitch so I can't upload it to their site

Well, I have a least three more parts for In/Exhale ready... So that should carry me thru the month... I have outlines for the rest, but not sure how much I'll finish before NaNoWriMo.

It is soooo quiet on pd this week. That is, in a way, good as I have tones to do but I miss all the chat. So.... I have been practising for Nanowritmo to see if I could get in the habit and jez it is so hard. It wouldn't take long if you have the story really formed in your mind and it is just a case of typing without having to think too much but I have found that I come across things that I need to research while writing, that I get a bit bogged down with my story which I think is due to the plotting making the writing process feel like work that creativity. I am still looking forward to it. I suppose that is the point, to let go and not worry about the research, the little facts but to get the bulk down.

I am still looking forward to it. I suppose that is the point, to let go and not worry about the research, the little facts but to get the bulk down. One of my fave writers just leaves blanks where she knows she needs research. She will be writing along, hit a snag where she needs to look something up, and write, ''Need to look (blank) up'' and keep going. She gets to those gaps in her second draft. I like the idea, and plan to try it this time around. That's one thing that works so well about Scrivner. You can just put a big TO DO mark on what you need to write, skip it and go back later. I sometimes do this when I'm writing if a scene just isn't materalizing for me, or if I'm working on one scene but feel stuck. I'll just add some ellipses and move on, coming back and finishing it later. That way I don't completely derail.
