So, I've been working on a story for the blog for a while, but I'm kind of stalled with it. I have some ideas of where I want it to go, but I feel like it's taken a turn or two I'm not sure about, and would love to get someone's feedback on that particular scene, as well as my overall outline. More that that, though, I really enjoy the teamwork parts of writing, which I have had at times for my academic writing but never for fiction. I like checking in with others, trading works-in-progress for editing, proofreading and general critique (and enjoyment), and having someone to celebrate minor victories with.
I know there are at least a few of you ladies who have done some writing that has never made its way onto the blog or anywhere else for public consumption. I'm wondering if one or two of you would like to trade email addresses and works in progress, and maybe set up something where we check in every week or two and provide mutual encouragement and beta reading...? Obviously, I'm looking for someone else whose fiction is of the devvy sort, and is able to criticize same constructively, but that's pretty much it in the way of requirements. My own current WIP is pretty standard contemporary romance/relationship drama, but I have other older stuff that I'd like to return to eventually, one of which is intended to be a more novel-length thing set in the near future. I love reading historical fiction as well but don't really have the patience at the moment myself for the depth of research required to write that genre.
