added: It wouldn't be worth watching at all without Peter Sellers, but that goes for a lot of things. 100% agree. But it's funny because I didn't like his Pink Panther at all. And I thought the Party was awful, still really like him tho, and it was pretty much all based on Strangelove... Ironic much?

My favorite wheeler in Film is probably The Amazing Mr. No legs. The whole film is on youtube. Here is a clip.
Loveless from Wild Wild West is another good one.
The worst portrayal of a wheeler in film is The Foot from ICP's Big Money Rustlas. Seriously WTF! The foot appears about 50 seconds in.

As mentioned in chat, but for everyone else's benefit, I highly recommend the films Inside I'm Dancing (also titled Rory O'Shea Was Here), the Sessions, and the Intouchables, watch all three!

"Inside I'm Dancing" is quite good but I thought the second half was quite poor and cliche. That last e should have some sort of apostrophe..

As a man with DMD who has had many friends with the disease pass away the ending of the film was quite well done and not cliche at all. Can you substantiate why it was poo and cliche? Just curious what I might have missed.

It's very sad. When will we see a happy ending or happiness at all....... it doesn't sell... and happy endings for better and worse dont collect money for reserch. So im very devided about that film, I love it but it annoys me. I want to see him happy with a girl, perhaps one who isn't an aide.
I know just188 was pissed at how the guy with cp was portrayed too.

I thought the second half of the film was very poor & of course I can give you my opinion on why. It has nothing to do with the guy with MD dying at the end. Unfortunately that happens frequently to people with disability & I also know people who have died though not necessarily with MD. In my opinion the film deteriorated once the characters with a disability left the residential setting & it skipped over the real difficulties. They found a fortuitous way to come into money, never went to the pub or anywhere else once they attained freedom & one fell in "love" with the carer very quickly. It skipped over a lot of the real problems and the characters with disabilities were shallow. I said this to someone after watching the film. They said it was written by someone who worked in a care home. That would make sense to me. Of course opinions differ. Also the person with CP was the butt of too many jokes (I don't have CP though, AMC). I am the happyface

I don't have the ability or time to post gifs, but there's also Kevin in Joan of Arcadia (mixed feelings on his portrayal in the show), and I really enjoyed the film Morgan, even if it's a shame they didn't cast a para actor.

I really loved Jude Law in Gattaca. (Thanks tinysighs for posting that one.) I thought his portrayal was quite accurate in terms of his general mood and approach to things and how he used a lot of sarcasm in his responses to some of the questions he got. I didn't like how he died in the end, but I guess it was a fairly somber movie over all, so I can probably see why the writer chose to go that way.
Javier Bardem in 'The Sea Inside' was also very good. I haven't seen it in a while, but I always remember it when I think about the portrayals of quads in film. Whoever hasn't seen it should check it out.

Marlon Brando in The Men. The movie itself wasn't that bad either

Off the top of my head, and most recently, Sam Worthington in Avatar. His portrayal was fair.
I watched a very dark, somewhat morose short film called "Gregory Go Boom" last year. You can see it on youtube, it's 20 min. It's not for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'd also second The Sessions. Plus it has Helen Hunt walking around nude a lot.
