Has anyone here heard of the Lincoln Rhyme novels?

Yep. Started "The Bone Collector" at the suggestion of a fellow dev, but didn't get past the Kindle sample. Found his nasty personal hygiene (even though I was told it improves) a horrible turn-off. Oh... it definitely improves. However, if you read this series for devy moments alone, once the audience is fully introduced to Rhyme the detail Deaver uses on disability description gives way to the plot. Bone Collector is the only book that uses such depth of detail. But these books are great reads if you love the genre.

I'm not the thriller-reading type, they stress me out. But yes, I imagine lots of devs have heard of these books, or at the very least have seen The Bone Collector.

I loved The Bone Collector, but the books became less and less devy. I've read all of them, but I don't find them devy at all, just good thrillers. The mystery of the first one was the best of all of them too.
