Your post sounds like a spam email…I'm guessing this was your entire reason for joining here… No thanks

Now we know where the ''Pro'' comes in... With 860 followers... you've obviously been doing this pre-PD. Why not just be upfront from the get-go? Oh, I know... you would have been banned. Some of your rules are:
4. No sexual/stupid graphics
5. No talking about, or the promoting other rooms
Maybe a wee bit hypocritical? Maybe me and MC are just jealous? but maybe not.

Eh, I guess I don't see the big deal.
Other than being naked and having sex, is it really all that different from the wheelers who make their money with motivational speaking? (AKA inspiration porn.....)

definitely like a car salesman… And I mean the story is BS, come on… He told his girlfriend how much fun he was having here that we were special enough to get the links to pay money. Should have just said, I do this for money and if you guys are interested in watching my site is blah whatever.com…

Well, this isn't the reaction I was expecting! PPP asked my advice a couple of times whether this would be appreciated (the porn aspect of it) by other members on here & I answered him that, as long as it is in the right section and clearly labelled, then go for it. Admittedly, I didn't know he'd be charging (what is a very small) amount to view it, but please tell me how this is any different from people on here giving links to erotic books they are selling? I don't get what all the fuss is about. I totally agree. A dev who joins, participates for a while and then really only ever after uses the story section to sell her erotica is no different than this. It's perhaps not good form, doesn't really leave the best taste in your mouth ( ), kind of feels like participating in a focus group without a disclosure notice, but why SHOULDN'T marketers use this site? We ARE their targeted consumers after all.

Each to their own..
I'm guessing most of us here have watched porn. We may even have gotten naked on webcam in a chatroom. It just so happens that one of the members here, and his rather attractive other half, enjoy performing on cam/making videos as part of their sex life.
So why not tell people who may be interested in watching about it? And if it brings in a little bit of cash, bonus! I'd be up for it too if I had a partner and it enhanced our sex life!
Good luck to ya PP

I don't see anything wrong with an effective advertising strategy. Also, despite a commercial interest one can still enjoy discussion and interaction with a target group. Yeah, the man is selling his private amateur porn to you. Does that make any contribution to a community on his behalf less valuable? Reading through some of the comments, this probably totally unrelated scene came to my mind:

Not a big deal, and great that he can make money at this. But it is just the way it comes across like a car sales man. He joins and post like he is part of the group then shows us his paid site. I joined the group, to be part of the group, I post threads, reply to post, and also provide pictures for the artist on here. The fact that I already had a (paided site), does that make me less (a cars sales men)? I was simply posting the facts about the link I provided.

Sounds like your saying I joined this site to share that link.. lol which is funny, because I had thought many times against it. With a little help from my girlfriend, and my friend @inkdevil, I decided to do it. It just happens that I webcam and that I am in this group. It wasn't till later that I had even thought about bringing the two together. Hope this can bring you some understanding, why you'd even care is kinda weird to me, but there you go!

And people always accuse me of being strict about spelling... ;-)

I also agree.
Just wanted to chime in about the site linked by the OP, as I go on it quite frequently. You don't have to pay in order to view webcam shows on that site...it's not mandatory. You don't even have to sign up for a username in order to view cams (you can view as an anonymous user), however, you won't be able to chat with the people doing their shows. That site has "tokens" which you can buy for money (again, not mandatory) and you use those tokens to tip the cam girls/guys. You can tip if you want to request something in particular or if you just feel like it. You can also use the tokens to purchase videos and/or photos...and it really is a small amount to pay.
Also wanted to add that some users on that site register as "exhibitionists", which means they broadcast their cams just for the hell of it and not for money. When you watch exhibitionists' live cams, there is no option to tip.
Cam girls/guys on that site generally make very little money, even less compared to some other well known live cam sites. I don't think it's a huge deal that the OP is charging a small amount for his video. I assume it's easier to make money off videos/pics than tips....just from what I've seen on that site...people rarely tip, and even when they do, it's not much...unless of course it's a really popular cam girl/guy. If people are willing to pay to see it, why not??
As for the cross-promoting issue -- I don't know...board rules are not my forte.

I have absolutely nothing against porn, or you making money doing it... I guess to me... it felt like you were perhaps here biding your time...waiting for the opportunity advertise your site and make some $. I guess I assumed wrong. My apologies paraplegicpro

Yah, I see nothing wrong with it. I've been to that site often...for research only, and I've seen EVERYTHING u can imagine for FREE. Some models won't do anything without a tip, but many do. I have seen a double-amp do his thing there before. You don't always have to spend money, but hey, it's $20 for 200 tokens- not bad, sheeesh!
