Benquad made me wonder...
You can pick up to 7, and if there's something I missed, tell us in the comments.

I only have one but am planning at least a couple more and none of them will be "wall" art. It took 36 years to get my first one and I feel that anything that will be permanently affixed to my body better mean something important to me. My next will be a modified Polish eagle to celebrate my heritage. Beyond that, I am working on an idea for a Wisconsin shaped tattoo to pay homage to the place I love and has shaped the person I am.

I understand what you mean about body art needs to mean something to you. Personally, I think that stuff that you find on the wall CAN definitely mean something to someone.
Personal examples are... The St. Pete's Cross between my shoulders "matches" the one my sis has. Hers is black and white (our artist's preferred style) and looks like stone. Mine is turquoise. It symbolizes our Irish heritage.
The infinity symbol on my inner left wrist is similar to ones I had seen online, but modified for my purpose.
There are things that symbolize stuff that means a lot to lots of people and, if you've never looked at the flash art, they have beautiful examples already drawn.

I didn't mean to sound elitist or douchy, I just meant that it has to have some deep meaning to me and so far, I haven't seen anything. Plus, I like the idea that a design is all mine. For instance, the polish eagle is a pretty popular tattoo of already existing art. I plan to make slight changes to suit me.

I know you well enough that I didn't think you meant to be douchy and didn't mean to imply that were.

I have two tattoos that don't mean a thing. I was 18 and just wanted one lol. I think it's okay to have tattoos just because you like them. .but that's just my opinion

I don't have any tattoos yet, but I've already chosen the drawning if someday I have the guts to do it!

All my tattoos have been drawn for me, but really have no meaning. I usually just roll in and ask what my guy what he's in the mood to do. When people ask the meaning, I usually just say that it means I have tattoos.

The first tattoo I ever had was from a clothing design label - but then it turned out that the guy who's label it was (and who was a famous rugby player at the time) had the tattoo on his shoulder first and then used it on his clothes. So everyone thought I was into the guy when all my inspitration had come from a T-shirt. It wasn't that original so a few years ago I had it covered up with something that was desinged just for me by my (regular) tattoo artist.
My second tattoo was supposed to be a design I had seen in a picture and I gave it to the artist (not my regular one) to adapt. When I arrived for my session it turned out he had lost my sketch and had come up with something completely different instead. I was still a tribal, but that is where the similarity ended. I liked it though so I had it inked.
Number three was actually a reworking of #2. I went to (who was then going to become) my regular artist and said to her I wanted to make the tattoo larger, coloured and that it should include flowers - she came up with the rest - you can't tell that it used to be seperate tattoos
Number four was my own basic design - two Star Wars icons mashed together - she just suggested chages to the colouring and I went with that
With number five I pretty much gave her free reign - all I said was "I want a bird of prey" - she said "Just don't make me tattoo a tribal ever again ..."

Where's the " I don't have a tattoo" option?
