I found this on YouTube, and it definitely brought back memories of 'pain in the ass' obstacles at college. This dude's a para, so you can just imagine the extra BS a c5c6 quad that pushes, like me, had to deal with. One thing I remember vividly was the double-door entrance into buildings. I can't tell you how many times I got caught somewhere in between.

I don't know why he's laughing all the time... I know some peepz on wheels who actually had to quit school, because it just wasn't accessible...

i don't think that guy is a para Tony, it says in the description that he had to use a wheelchair for a day to see what it's like. Still interesting though

yeah, he (and his friend w/ one leg) were only using the chairs for a day for an assignment. hence the levity vs. aggravation.

LOL....silly me, I didn't catch that!! Well, it just brought back crazy accessible prob memories when I attended USF. There were classes in lecture halls where the floor was slanted, making it damn hard to do anything, packed classes with little room for w/chair, buildings with big steep ramps, note-taking and lugging books, writing pad and other junk just starts the challenges. But overall, college was a good experience, really opened doors in my life, so it was an experience I'd never take back.

when i was taking construction 100 the "lab" was a field trip to a building site that was @ the level of construction that we were studying that week...each friday the grad asst would fetch the lift van & off we would go,,,construction sites are wayyyyyyy not accessible but the dudes (& grrlzes) in the class were determined that i wouldnt miss out on anything,,,i cringe thinking back about the places they took me,,,thru sugar sand,,,mud,,,up winding unfinished staircases,,,,the only place they failed to get me into was a new mccdonalds that was surrounded by chainlink fencing...i use that as my excuse for getting a "B" in steel construction ;-)
