Ugh - this crazy DEV thing. I was driving today and noticed a very handsome man in the truck next to me. Alright, handsome man right? Until I noticed that there was a sporty wheelchair in the back of the truck. First thing I do is look at license plate-yup, Disabled license plate. Heart starts racing...I try and catch up to sneak another peak but he is driving super fast. My mind wanders...how does he do that, is it his? Scenarios racing through my head. My DEV self gets so revved up thinking...I miss where I was suppose to turn 😮!!! Just wanted to share. What a fun dev moment. I can see why you’d miss your turn! 😉

Too bad he didn't look out the window at you and you could have smiled at him😉Too bad he was too quick to follow!

Today in the cafeteria at work I saw a quad probably within 10 years of my age. I was kind of thinking it was too bad it was me instead of someone who could appreciate it. LOL

There is a para that moved in about 2 miles from my house and I pass there at least twice a day. Sometimes he is outside in the front yard. He is really good looking, about 35, single. I heard his wife left him, dont know why. He has a power chair for the grass in the yard, but would look awesome pushing a manual one. There is a black truck at the house, which I know he drives, but I would love to see him transfer into it. Maybe one day. I get excited everytime I get near it!

I am a little excited...I walked into the gym today and I see a guy in a chair by the registration desks talking to one of the staff. I only saw his back and I was thinking about a reason to walk by there again. I didn't have a reason though. Anyways, I hope she talked him into signing up. Just today I was very unmotivated to come to the gym but kinda kicked myself in the butt to come and what a nice surprise. I hope to see the wheeler around since my previous gym crush disappeared from the face of the earth I need a new gym crush and motivation to get my butt in here...

Well, I officially started my new year in a weird way. I was at a New Years Eve party at a friend's house and I had a great time, we were laughing, playing games, drinking and it was so much fun. Then I leave at 1:30 am and as I am driving down their street all the sudden out of the dark rolls around a dude in a chair.
He came from a house and since it was dark, all I saw was his chair had a light color and he wore a hoodie and had facial hair. In an instant my mood changed, my heart dropped, my thoughts were now only racing around the sighting and here I am now laying in my bed crying.
Sometimes I hate being a dev. I am okay for a while when I don't see anyone or anything and I long for a sighting, then it happens every couple of lightyears and it literally f.... me up. Then it overcomes me so violently and it is so emotional because the dev in me yearns and hungers so much.
This was so unexpected and it's not anything sexual but the mere sight of this guy who didn't look bad from what I saw in my headlights just got to my inner dev core. I drove home and couldn't think of anything else and my carefree good mood changed into a pain that has been kept in check and held at bay for a while and tears came to my eyes.
Yes, in those moments I hate being a dev. I want to believe that maybe this was a good sign for the new year but in reality I doubt it very much.

Sorry to hear that Dani. Being a dev can be very frustrating but doesn't get me to that extent. I hope you feel better soon. Chin up, that dream wheeling guy might be just around the corner. R.x

It can be so frustrating dani when you arent able to act on your desires. Try and look at the positives of your current relationship....maybe the wheeler was a total asshole lol, there are some out there. For most of us our dreams of being with a pwd can be intense but the reality is that its just like any other relationships, it has ups and downs, high spots and lows. Try to find a balance between dreams and reality, i know it can be tough x

I know just how you feel! I have a good husband and a good life, but there is always something missing. But your husband sounds very open so you are lucky. You may end up with a relationship with a wheeler one day. Try not to be sad, you dint know what the future holds.

Thanks friends for your encouragement It's not so much the dreaming of a relationship or something, I actually am not dreaming of a relationship with a wheeler. It's just the fact of it...that only the sight can put me in this crazy head space that affects me so much sometimes...it's so frustrating. Like in an instant my world shifts and this rollercoaster of emotions happens.
My husband was with me when we saw him and he actually was surprised too when we saw this guy appear basically in our headlights like a deer...lol I was driving, I really could have almost hit him... I kept talking about how "what the hell in the middle of the night and why" and all that. Then I became quiet, my husband became quiet but he was also a bit wasted and I told him now I feel weird and he asked, "Because of the guy?" but he said it nice and put his hand on my leg almost in assurance. And since the evening had been very much infused with alcohol and everyone cursing left and right I said, "Yeah, I haven't seen a f..... dude in a chair in forever and now one appears to me in the middle of the f..... night on New Years"...and my husband agreed how strange it was and all.
So I guess when it comes to that it's just amazing how he is. He said in the past that the only thing he can do for me is be there for me when it happens and that's all, and he was once again a trooper.
Oh well, I woke up feeling better today and maybe I will look at it as a good sign. I don't want a relationship really, I'm looking for other explorations only. We will see.
