Welcome Mr. Jeff. So that was YOUR thread! Some of us just happened to see that thread and had to chime in. Hang around, post some stuff and you'll soon find out what we're all about. Since you already know Carpenter, I am sure he'd be more than happy to give you a heads up!

Hiya Jeff, welcome to the board! Hm, what's a female devotee? I think you know what we are: women who think disabled guys are sexy. I'm going to take a guess that your real question is, are we as creepy some people say? You'll just have to judge for yourself on that one, but all I can say is this board is as a whole much more interesting, intelligent and respectful than some older, now defunct devo groups. And hey, if you want to post some photos of yourself, we all would be very, uh, admiring ;D

Jeff, like Devogirl says, we are a pretty open group of women who (for whatever reason ie. personal experience, life choices, circumstance or no reason at all) think disabled guys have alot more to offer us than able-bodied guys. You might ask why is that? We could probably all give you a different answer.
I can tell you for starters that I have been in 2 relationships with guys w/ disability. It just so happens that both these men put the previous "boys" in my life to shame. Now, maybe I just "lucked out" with the two afore-mentioned guys and shouldn't generalise.
I think overcoming adversity (blah, blah) makes some people idiots and some people really amazingly self-aware and incredible. I happened upon two of these amazingly incredible people in my life-time and am still very involved with one of them (the other, sadly passed away 4 years ago).
So, here I am and as far as I am concerned, I'm as creepy as the next upstanding citizen.

AB, was your ex's demise disability related? How old was he?

Triassic, he died at 33 from a non-disability related cause. He had leukemia. He was SCI (T-10) from age 16 and a motor vehicle accident. I met him when we were in our early 20's. We parted "friends" from our relationship after a number of years because we just kind of drifted in separate directions and interests. We remained friends.

Yeah, that's a pretty weird mistake to make, calling yourself AB.

No it isn't a weird mistake at all: I normally click on Name first to type Triassic, THEN I click on message to write my text. 'AB' was the first thing I had in mind to type in my message, as you can see...but I accidentally typed it where Triassic usually is. Jeez louise, I corrected it immediately...

I didn't date a guy with a neuro problem. I have a cousin with a neuromuscular disease problem tho'. I never dated him. Our relationship consists of fighting over who gets the turkey wings at Thanksgiving dinners.

Hey Jeff! Is that your pic that was recently added to the board? If yes, you're just as much a cutie as Rolln. You can tuck your jealousy away.......you have my attention, too! I like your pic and posts as well. I've never been to NM which is why I never said anything to you before. But, since your recent reply in Rolln's Personals post which I found entertaining, I wanted to say hello to you, too! Happy gobble-gobble day!
