I have a rather strong dislike of Ricky Gervais, he is an opinionated asshole, which makes it impossible for me to watch anything he is in without getting seriously irritated 😂 He is definitely 'marmite' and I too fall into the 'cant stand him' category, I've tried the office, dereck, idiot abroad, afterlife and never got through any of them, just dont find him funny at all, maybe it's an age thing but his over use of the cnut word I just find distasteful as well 🤷♂️🤷♂️ ...

Thats exactly it @moonchild ... i feel he is one of those people who can be quite cruel/unpleasant but covers it up under the umbrella of 'comedy'. Then if you call them out on it they blame you for having no 'sense of humour' ! A close relative was a master in that, so ive seen it firsthand.

Agree, i HATE that word. There are so many beautiful descriptive words, that to use c##t seems incredibly lazy and i just stop listening after that.

The Tudors is very good for a period piece with charismatic characters and lots of sex. I like this show. Was instantly addicted.

Finally got my mother to watch The Wire, so I've been rewatching it myself so I can talk to her it about. It's just so good! Probably my favorite of all time. If you haven't seen it do yourself the favor. Yes, The Wire is my favorite show of all time also. It is a masterpiece. My friend recently started watching the series and I am delighted!! OMAR COMIN *everyone scurries away like cockroaches when the light gets turned on*

*under oath in a courtroom testifying as a witness* I robs drug dillas. I got the shotgun....you got the briefcase.....it's all in the game though right? I have to restrain myself whenever people start quoting this show because I'll get carried away haha Yeah I’m going to have to stop too unless we make an entire Wire thread... I suddenly have a craving for Honey Nut Cheerios and Newport Hundreds.

I just want to add that Newport Hundreds should be pronounced “Newpote Hunnits”. If you wanna sound like a cool person from Baltimore.

Yeah not just the drug trade in Baltimore though. Also politics, unionized workers, education system, newspaper media, and probably some other shit. Alcoholism, police brutality... pretty wide scope and each season has its own theme that it focuses on.
Remember a few years back when that dude in Baltimore got killed in the back of a police van, and everyone got super pissed off? That shit happens for real. Same with the open air drug markets.

It's HBO, but you can buy it on Prime (or maybe it's there to watch?). It's a series about the drug trade in Baltimore. Top notch script, top notch acting, and widely acclaimed to be one of the best TV dramas ever. If you get HBO already with a TV provider like DirecTV, you can see all the HBO stuff on-demand using the HBO Go (soon to be HBO Max) app by signing in with your TV provider login. Same for Showtime.

I'm watching Ramy, it is great! It is funny but at the same time it is also super dark and wrong, absolutely lovely! And, there is a guy in a wheelchair who is played by someone who is actually disabled (and he must have got a say in the writing).

So excited for HBO Max, I can't wait to rewatch every studio Ghibli movie! Also I've really been meaning to watch Ramy, Although I don't really know what it's about.
I've been watching HAPPYish on Netflix, which is also super dark and wrong and funny. Also it's very philosophical, lots of absurdism in the writing, I think Camus would like it.

Not Netflix but I have loved Killing Eve. Season 3 has just finished with a great cliffhanger......can’t wait for season 4.
