@jessy socal is fun but sometimes it does seem like it can be a bit too much for someone thats not from around here. there's so much to do out here lifes never boring. its so different from nor-cal it still is so hard to believe its still the same state when you go from north to south.vice versa

I'm not from Cali but was there for 2 days last weekend and was amazed to see two amputees in one day and I can't even remember how many wheelers, maybe 4 or more. Yeah, I was at a street fair but would think with the crowds the wheelers would stay inside. Maybe Cali attracts disabled people.

It's like I said in another thread. Cali is very disable friendly. There are a lot of the same negative attitudes but business owners and public places take ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) serious. There's a sense of encouragement to get out there, not astonishment. My ex was amazed at how many wheelers there were in Long Beach.

Some years ago i was at the irvine valley college for a few months, they had a gym specially adapted for wheelers and people with other disabiities. It was really great there, made many friends and went there a few times more. I've visited most parts of the world so far (exept africa) and must say california is more wheeler friendly than anything else, but australia is great as well. ;D
