"Collapse on Webtoon is a zombie apocalypse story with a main character who is mute and uses ASL."
I am LOVING this story!! I can't wait for the next update!

queenkala I'm so glad you're enjoying it! Zombie apocalypse is one of my least favorite genres, and yet it's such a sensitive and original take, I'm totally hooked. The art is nice too. And the main character is so devvy, I love how he uses ASL. I'm excited for the updates too but ugh I have a feeling it's going to be tragic, haha.

I find most zombie apocalypse stories too depressing. It's like, I want to read a Rousseauian zombie apocalypse story, but all I can find are Hobbesian ones. Where's the stories where people band together under crisis and a common enemy and work to build the world anew better than it was before?

waiting for updates on webcomics can be exhausting!!
I know! Reading one page every week isn't the best way to engage with a story, and some webcomics move really slowly. But I do enjoy seeing frequent updates of my favorites.
I just discovered the rare webcomic with a para character. It's called Childe and Sweet Wife, and it's on a site called WebComics. But before you all get too excited, be warned that it's pretty childish and silly--like an Asian TV drama but even sillier. It's (inexpertly) translated from Chinese, and the art is manga style. The main love interest is a para who pretends to be mute for some reason. His chair is terrible, like some old hospital chair. I couldn't bear to read more than a few chapters but the story is complete.
I think the main reason we don't see so many comics about SCI characters is because it's really hard to draw a wheelchair.

Speaking of drawing wheelchairs, have you seen this?

I've been reading lots more web comics! It's amazing how much devvy content there is.
For all you fans of Collapse, there is yet another zombie apocalypse romance story with a mute main character. It's called "Into the Bush" and it's on Webtoon. It's m-f, not much romance yet, and nothing has been explained, but the male mc appears unable to talk, also he has a broken ankle. It's quite different from Collapse (which just gets better and better) but also really good so far.
There's another new series on Webtoon called The Prince of Southland, a scifi m-m story about a rich guy with two bionic arms who accidentally takes in an escaped criminal. I've been enjoying it a lot even if the prosthetics are somewhat magical. Speaking of scifi titles on Webtoon, Empyrea and LoveBot are still ongoing, and I've been enjoying them a lot.
Over on Tapas, the comic Rechargeable is yet another SF story with a bunch of amputee characters, although I've only read a few chapters so far, and Make a Wish is about a leg amputee woman.
On WebComics, The Blind and the Homeless is a m-m romance story, but the quality of the translation is really bad. I haven't read much, so far it's mediocre.

I'm still reading tons of web comics! There's a new series on Webtoon called ad-just[BL], a m-m supernatural story about a mute exorcist who communicates with ASL. It's fun and intriguing but so far a bit slow.
Also my favorite comic, Out of the Blue, was recently featured on a blog, some really interesting discussion about comics storytelling.
These two are about image and theme.
This third post is about the connection between disability, queerness and embodiment: It's a really thoughtful post, and reminds me of the discussions we were having here recently about the devviness of mermen. And a good introduction to the comic if you haven't read it yet.

OMG you guys!!! Flawless has finally been picked up by Webtoon for an official English translation! I didn't compare but maybe some of the early art has been redrawn? Anyway if you were holding back because the fan translation was not good, or just want to revisit, now is the time. And if you haven't read it yet you are in for a SUPER devvy treat. Read here for free, updates every Tuesday.

Another update of devvy webtoons:
On Webtoons:
Prince of Southland: sci fi story with androids and cyborgs, main character is an arm amputee. This one just gets better and better, and the most recent chapters are quite devvy.
Chanta: Sci fi, it takes a very long time for the amputee characters to show up, I won't say who because it's a spoiler but this one is a strong recommend anyway. It's so original and the art is amazing. The artist just recently started a side story called Shifting Borders, also with a different amputee main character and that one is super devvy.
Soft As Organdy: WTF this is the strangest thing I've ever read. Very much a teenage fantasy but with a ton of characters almost all with various disabilities. I suspect the author is a dev, but maybe not self-aware.
Modifight: sci fi action story with arm amputee main character, pretty devvy but also frustratingly ableist
Also the official translation of Flawless is still being updated weekly. The amazing super devvy second season just started, so if you want to skip the uneven first season and jump in, now is the time. Start with episode 50 if you don't mind missing some plot details, but it's not hard to follow.
On Tapas:
Bone's Tarot: action/magic m-m romance with a blind main character, although he can see by magic so I find it less devvy. There's a new side story called Partners that's mostly fluff but slightly more devvy content.
Your Love is Weird: m-m teenage romance, main character has facial difference, really original, surprisingly good
Llost: fantasy quest tale with arm amputee MC but so far not that devvy
Where the Flowers Lead: fantasy GL romance with blind female MC
