So, I gave up and sold my soul to Netflix. While I always refused to sign up for yet another membership with monthly fees, this whole sitting at home thing made me sign up for the 30 days free trial version. I now need to know what are the must-see devy things on Netflix I need to have a look into?

I knooow, @evagarden SCI movies seem rare. But on the other hand, if I sum up what I found and saw so far, there are quite a few good movies out there. By the way, the other night I re-watched Avatar. Sam Worthington makes a very cute para. I'll take any suggestions. I have 30 days and then I decide if I liked Netflix overall or not. But so far it seems pretty nice. I knew I would say this @evagarden you have another very nice profile picture by the way.

Thanks! I remembered you guys talking about that in an earlier thread, but I never had an idea what it was about. Of course, if devogirl suggests something, it must be about blindness ;-) Even though not being a blindness dev myself (I am "neutral" in that case), I'll definitely have a look into it!

There’s the documentary Crip Camp, but I’m not sure how devvy that is. It wasn’t at all for me but I enjoyed it a lot nonetheless

I started a thread asking for recommendations to watch on Netflix and everyone has been great. I’ve found some things that I enjoyed but unfortunately nothing devvy. I hope your thread gets some suggestions for us all to watch. I didn’t enjoy crip camp at all and the few others I’ve seen are all on the inspiration porn genre ie me before you, the upside etc etc.

Crip camp is mostly about teens, so most of the people in it have congenital disabilities rather than acquired. I only got about halfway through before falling asleep, but I thought it was cute. I didn't feel like it was inspiration porn at all. It was light hearted, intimate, and emotional. But hey, maybe staying awake the whole time would make me change my tune.

I didnt mean Crip Camp was inspo porn , i found it boring. It was the others films that i was referring to.

A little late to the thread but thought I would throw one in. Roll With Me is a doc about a para using a regular manual chair (not a racing chair) to literally roll across the USA on highways. I started it but didn't end up finishing it. It is based off of a true story. www.imdb.com/title/tt5655642/ He screwed up his shoulders early on so I had a hard time watching it with him in pain. I haven't looked it up to see if he made it across the country. It got a bit inspirational porny though.
