As some of you know, I was in the army when I had my accident, 30 years ago this September. In July I was going to my regimental reunion in Blackpool, but like many things it was cancelled but I shaped my beret anyway. There is always next year. Attachment Deleted |

It’s called a hackle, I was in the Second Battalion of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. If you have time you should google it, it might interest you.

Thanks Lizzy, I went to a reunion two years ago and met my friends for the first time in thirty years. But, I couldn’t go on the parade on the Sunday, as skin was cracked. This year I intended to go on the parade, hence my beret, blazer and tie. Hopefully next year in Blackpool will be on, we all live in different parts of the country, it’s difficult.

Thanks, you never know might get someone to push me👍☺️ I mean what woman wouldn’t like to be on the parade with hundreds of old soldiers. Each wearing one of those hackles on their heads. I mean it’s a tempting offer, if not it’s my electric wheelchair, and my Indian or Filipino carer 😄 both men!

You’re looking well britishtetra I hope you’re managing the stress of lockdown. Such a shame that so many things have been cancelled but I’m sure next year will be back to normal and we can all appreciate spending time with friends. |
