I'll take Crip Camp over that steaming pile of bullshit, frankly.

I thought it was going to be better but end up be a low budget flick.

*** SPOILERS ***** When he gives her an epidural so that she’s in a wheelchair too, I fucking lost it. And then their cripple fight on the stairs, and he’s sliding down after her... I didn’t stop laughing until the end of the movie at that point. And then a few more chuckles during the credits. I know! I was laughing so hard, too. I thought it was a pretty decent movie, actually. Angel makes a good villain, and he was already clearly disturbed from the start. I loved the ending, too. Something I couldn't stop thinking: he seriously deserves a Super Crip™ medal. I mean, when he knocks her down on the floor, how the fuck did he manage to get her unconscious grown woman body back to bed?? Dressing/undressing wouldn't be too hard, I bet. But getting her from the floor and back to bed... Idk. Mad skills lol. And finally, the story did feel close to home, as men who feel entitled to women and will do anything to get it is, unfortunately, an all too common thing.

That’s a good point about getting her on the bed. She was pretty small which probably made it easier. I want to try that now with someone and see if I can do it. Not sure I could. I also burst into laughter when the new boyfriend pulls open the shower curtain and our antagonist is just sitting there in his wheelchair holding a syringe. I actually didn’t expect that. It is sad because the new boyfriend seemed like a pretty decent guy. Gotta hand it to Angel, he did a great job making the murder look like a suicide, and he really kept his cool when the cops came a’knockin!

I watched it and actually really enjoyed it. Mostly because it was a good storyline and well filmed, not because he was a Para. It really wasn’t a devvy film. And I really liked the ending. What goes around comes around

I've been seeing posts on Instagram with PWDs, specifically people with limb differences, are upset about the new film The Witches. I haven't seen it (and probably won't, not enough spaceships) but the top hits from googling it were all about how it's a negative portrayal of disability. www.al.com/life/2020/11/the-witches-film-set-in-alabama-slammed-by-disability-community.htmlI don't think this warrants its own thread, but thought it would be interesting to bring up since this thread was talking about the evil cripple trope and it surprised me to encounter it so quickly "in the wild." I could only think of Unbreakable when it got brought up before, but the list at the bottom of that page is huge.
