Hi everyone! Just want to introduce myself. My name is David and I live in Maryland. I wear leather and metal leg braces due to my disability. I'm cool with devotees and I guess you could call me a devotee as well because I'm attracted to persons with disabilities. I sometimes use crutches or a power chair. I'm bisexual.
Looking forward to chatting and getting to know you.
David

I feel like you want us to play "guess my disability", David. Your arms must be strong from using crutches... why a power chair? Hmmmm, very curious indeed. The name choice "Hotlegbraceguy" somehow makes me think you are a gay pretender, which is just fine, if you come right out and say "Hey, I'm a gay/bi wannabe/pretender". If not, then correct me and enlighten me as to the nature of your disability.
Yes, we are a suspicious lot over here, but we do like to give the benefit of the doubt. Truth on this board is very, very important, as we deal with pretty sensitive issues. So, welcome and do tell us more about you.

Geessss, lol. I have Polio. I only use the chair for long distance trips. I AM NOT a wannabe nor a pretender. I just picked that user name because I've been told I'm hot when I wear shorts and show my braces. ;D

Thanks for the clarification. As to who thinks the braces are hot, I was wondering if it has been primarily guys or gals? My experience is that other men are much more overtly turned on by the leather and steel thing, tho' I have to say I am a fan of them myself. Also, when did you find out that you were a dev yourself? What turns you on?

LOL, I'm so glad I didn't chime in there, I came sooooooooooooo close. I, too, strongly suspected that your "disability" was abasiophilia. But then I thought...what if it's not!!! Glad I held my figurative tongue on that one. David, I *am* a wannabe and pretender (although I hate those terms; I have BIID, and am also a dev) but I'm not really a proponent of pretending online - I don't see the point. If we can't be totally honest with each other anonymously online, then where can we be? It is cool to see that someone with a disability is also a dev. That's gotta be rare, but not impossible. It had to happen sometime. Cool. I like braces too. Welcome!

What would a picture prove?

well, a 43 year old american with polio is....impossible? or damn near. and what leg brace user refers to himself as a Leg Brace Guy? i certainly don't. a pic doesnt prove anything; but it's info, evidence. the more fakery someone has to engage in, the more they give themselves away.
nope...i'll bet this is a gay devo guy doing the online pretender thing. which is fine. i have no problem with that.

Triassic: I really don't know what to tell you. I call myself "legbraceguy" because I wanted to use a name that would attract the kinda of dev I am looking for. I will tell you that you are correct about the polio. I have a disability that is very much related to polio and it's called arthrogryposis. Look it up. I said polio because my disability is so rare that most people have never heard of it. So when I'm trying to describe what my disability is like, I just say polio. In terms of a pic, I'd be more than happy to send you one privately. AB: Well you are correct, it has been more guys than gals. I think I've have always been at tracked to other persons with disabilities going back to elementary school. I went to an elementary school in DC that was just for kids with disabilities. In terms of what turns me on it is usually other males and females that wear braces and/or are in a chair. I'm also attracted to persons with CP. And the idea of a person being attracted to me because of either my braces, crutches, or chair really gets me going Clair: Thanks for the nice greeting. David

I know someone else who lives in your state with your same disability, however, he never told me he was bi-sexual. It would be an interesting revelation if you were the same person. Indeed, I am sure you would find it interesting to learn that I was a DEV, if you were that person. But I think this is coincidental and that you are not the same person.
Arthrogryposis, short version = multiple joint contractures from birth. Congential thing. Arthro affects both upper and lower body joints. Manual chair is usually not possible due to limitation of shoulder rotation. People with this have full sensation and it's rare, but not that rare. Therefore it is possible to be bi-sexual and have a congenital disability and use braces/crutches but not be able to use a manual chair.
Therefore Triassic, my conclusion is REAL person, real disability and real dev also. Amazing Grace!

and what leg brace user refers to himself as a Leg Brace Guy? And what kind of wheelchair guy would go by the name of: wheelie37 wheelwayne wheelsrlife8 wheeledone jaosononwheels etc? That's not a very strong argument (though I don't necessarily disagree with your overall point).

And what kind of wheelchair guy would go by the name of: jasononwheels I can't speak for the other guys, but in this case, I can answer an emphatic "an uncreative one!" I'm uncreative, too.
