A simple question for my fellow devs:
is there anyone here for whom dev feelings (in some form) did NOT begin in childhood? It seems to me this is one of the most common shared traits of self-identified devs.

I remember one woman who stated that her devness developed only through having a relationship with a PWD. It's been some time ago so I haven't been able to find her posts. The question of course remains if this has been devness as in a chosen or an "innate" sexual preference and if we at all have means to distinguish or should distinguish anyway. It is also connected to the question if devness was triggered by events in childhood or has always been there, hardly wired in our brains. (I am a supporter of the second hypothesis, but well, research would of course be better than just listening to my feelings and experiences.)
If we consider devness as a sexual orientation or sexual identity (which I know is not supported by all the devs here) it is totally expected to start in childhood.
