Good luck, Jordan. I'll vouch that he's a funny, smart guy, at least from what I've gotten from chatting with him here at PD.

It doesn't work that way here, guys. I am sorry that we have to say this again and again. This is definitely not a dating site. There are plenty of those out there that serve that purpose. I've seen quite a few guys turn away from here after finding that after a few weeks of posting that nothing was forthcoming. The most wonderful thing about this place is that friendships evolve here. What they evolve into is between the friends. The purpose of this site is in the FAQ's and I am sure most people never read them.

having a section called personals doesn't make that entirely clear lol... I should have elaborated that what I'm looking for above is my end goal, but I know the path to that begins with a friendship and I thought starting this thread might lead me to something eventually...

deleted my original post... once again though I'm a 28-year-old straight man with muscular dystrophy... I'm a friendly fun caring and kind hearted guy and I'm looking for a human connection... preferably with a female dev in hopes of getting to know more about this whole thing and also to forge some kind of connection, maybe eventually something more if we click as friends and both of us are interested in the idea...

I agree having a section entitled 'personals' is very confusing. It's not that you can't meet the love of your life here because I have seen that happen. Quite a few people (not you per se) come here and think they have found a dev buffet and then are so disappointed that they leave, dejected. We lose a potentially awesome member who could have contributed a lot simply because they weren't aware of the real dynamic here.

Maybe the mods should put a sticky to that effect to make things less confusing?
I think the best way is to be active on the boards, personally.

yeah I definitely don't see it as a dev buffet lol... I see there are a lot of interesting and creative people here and that over and above the whole dev thing is why I actually reached out like that...

Yes indeed, an imaginary place, a false fantasy, where potential sexual partners with predominately hidden cravings and desires, which are based solely on male disabilities, are willing to chat about those desires but anything else maybe too taboo. I can certainly understand why so many disabled men find their hopes dashed looking under the heading "personals." Not only are they often disenfranchised in mainstream society, but when then do manage to glean a glimmer of hope, such as this site clearly represents, they are quashed by societies larger phobia of dismemberment and or disabilities. And this overt social repression appears to be demonstrated by the inability of so-called devotees to openly communicate with men in a "personal" on-line forum. I know I'm confused...lol.
